Timbavati Game Reserve
The Timbavati wildlife reserve, covering more than 53,000 hectares, borders the western part of Kruger National Park and was founded in 1956 by game farmers. The fences between the surrounding reserves and Kruger National Park were removed so that the animals can move freely throughout the region. Besides various antelope species, zebras and giraffes, the Big Five as well as the rare African wild dogs are often sighted – with a little luck, of course. At the Nhlaralumi River, you have the chance to watch the animals drinking.
After arrival in the early afternoon, you can enjoy the surroundings with a small snack and refreshing drink before setting off on your first game drive. You spend the next days on safari in open safari vehicles. The guides know the area extremely well and do their utmost to offer you unforgettable wildlife viewing. After the morning safari, there is a balanced breakfast. Afterwards, you have free time to relax and enjoy. In the afternoon, a snack and coffee or tea are served before heading out on the hunt for sightings again. All meals as well as 2 safari activities per day are included in the price. You stay overnight at Shindzela Camp (basic option) or at Simbavati River Lodge in a safari tent (standard option).
