Maun – Okavango Delta
Transfer by light aircraft
Dumela – welcome to Botswana. At Maun airport, you board a light aircraft and so begin your fly-in safari to the Okavango Delta.
On a clear day, you can take in the imposing landscapes of the delta from above – a truly impressive sight. The Okavango Delta is formed by the water of the Okavango River, which never reaches the ocean. Instead, the river seeps away into the Kalahari Desert, creating the beautiful landscape of rivers, lagoons, swamps, grasslands and wooded islands for which the delta is so famous.
Once you have landed safely in the Okavango Delta, a boat takes you through a labyrinth of waterways directly to your camp. Here you have plenty of time to relax and freshen up before you begin your first adventure.
On a boat trip, you can explore your surroundings as the sunset bathes the waters of the Okavango Delta in a beautiful golden light.
In the evening, a delicious dinner awaits you at Setari Camp, your accommodation for the following two nights.

Okavango Delta
An exciting day lies ahead of you today, best begun right in the early morning. Your accommodation offers a variety of activities, and the following are some ideas for how you can spend today on your Okavango Delta fly-in safari:
In a traditional canoe, a mokoro, steered by a local “poler”, you can glide along the waterways and enjoy a very special kind of safari – what a great start to the day.
The delta is home to hundreds of extraordinary bird species. In your mokoro, you glide silently close to many animals and birds. This way you experience the bush up close and are often rewarded with unique wildlife sightings.
In the late morning, you return to your camp, where you can enjoy a brunch and relax a little before the next activity begins in the afternoon.
On a motorboat, you head back onto the water to continue your Okavango Delta water safari.
Alternatively, you can go on guided walking safaris with a local guide and explore the delta's islands on foot. On a walking safari, you experience nature from a different perspective and can discover new things that would otherwise have remained hidden.
Back at camp, after dinner you can sit by the campfire and enjoy the beautiful starry sky. You spend another night at Setari Camp.
