Your trip
On this 9-day Okavango Delta and Chobe camping safari in a small group, you spend two nights in each location:
Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai region, Savuti region and Chobe River Front – some of the best wildlife areas in Africa.
Extensive game drives with an experienced guide, a flight over the Okavango Delta, mokoro trips and a Chobe River cruise are the highlights.
The group size of 12 participants offers personal experiences at excellent value for money.
A dedicated camp crew takes care of all the chores – you sleep in proper beds in walk-in tents and can simply enjoy!
This trip is ideal for
Comfortable adventurers
Nights in a mobile camp on private campsites
Safari lovers
Extensive game drives in Big Five areas
Nature lovers
Savannahs, floodplain landscapes, waterways
Outdoor enthusiasts
9 days outdoors in Botswana's wild nature

You travel with a guide who really knows the area very well. In the evenings, the safari continues as you listen to the night sounds of the bush at the private campsites.
And just when you think you have seen it all, you head out by canoe and boat on a water safari. So you can hardly get more safari than this. And at a price that is unbeatable for Botswana.
My tip: If you have a few more days to spare, a visit to Victoria Falls before or after the safari is well worth it.”

Maun – Moremi Game Reserve
Driving distance: game drives
Dumela / Hello! A warm welcome to Botswana! The airline Mack Air will welcome you to Botswana when you land at Maun airport at around 1 pm. You meet your pilot for the impressive flight over the Okavango Delta and Chief’s Island. On a light-aircraft flight, you can experience this fascinating ecosystem from a fish eagle's perspective. Your guide awaits you at a remote landing strip in Moremi Game Reserve. In your 4×4 safari vehicle, with a fortifying picnic lunchbox, you drive to your campsite in the middle of nature. The drive is also your first game drive, on which you can discover Botswana's wildlife. On arrival at camp, your helpful crew awaits you with cold drinks, a campfire and a delicious dinner. You spend your first night in your walk-in mobile tent, in the middle of Botswana's wild nature. A warm welcome to your Okavango Delta and Chobe camping safari!
Day 2Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve
Driving distance: game drives
Safari days start early, because in the cool morning air many animals are active and the chances of exciting sightings are best. You spend today on game drives in the Xakanaxa / Third Bridge area of Moremi Game Reserve. Together with your fellow travellers and your experienced guide, you explore the 5,000-square-kilometre reserve. Moremi is one of the best places for safaris in Botswana and in all of Africa. The Xakanaxa region in the heart of Moremi Game Reserve is characterised by mopane woodland, lagoons and shallow waterways – ideal places to see elephants, crocodiles, hippos and many antelope species. Lions, leopards and cheetahs also live in Moremi. In the evening, you can relax by the campfire, count the stars in the sky and later fall asleep to the sounds of the night bush.
Day 3Moremi Game Reserve – Khwai region

Moremi Game Reserve – Khwai region
Driving distance: game drives
Today you continue east into the Khwai region, while remaining within Moremi Game Reserve. Depending on road conditions, you reach the region after 3–4 hours. The Khwai region lies in the north-eastern part on the edge of the Okavango Delta and consists of open grasslands, woodland and above all lagoons, waterways and floodplain landscapes. The Khwai River separates Moremi Game Reserve from the neighbouring local Khwai Community Area. You have your lunch on the way in the form of a picnic lunchbox, giving you even more time to watch the region's wildlife. Besides lions and hyenas, with a little luck you can also see leopards, African wild dogs, as well as sable and roan antelope. You spend another night in your walk-in tent, while the camping crew make sure you want for nothing. Your campsite is located within Moremi Game Reserve in a remote spot in the middle of nature.
Day 4Khwai region

Khwai region
Driving distance: game drives
Enjoy your breakfast under the open sky before setting off on further game drives. Your experienced guide knows the area extremely well, knows not only where the animals are but can also tell you a great deal about their social behaviour. Together you explore the floodplain landscapes of the Khwai River. This region is more remote than the neighbouring community area – so you can enjoy a more exclusive safari experience. No day on safari is like another, and you will be surprised how much you have already seen and experienced by the fourth day of your trip. In the afternoon, a very special experience awaits you: in a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe, you explore the winding waterways of the Khwai region. Your local “poler” steers the mokoro safely through the mazes of reeds and water. Almost silently, you glide across the shallow waterways and can watch hippos, crocodiles and many different water birds. A classic Botswana experience and certainly a highlight of your trip. In the evening, another delicious dinner and campfire atmosphere await you at camp.
Day 5Khwai region – Chobe National Park (Savuti region)
Driving distance: approx. 170 km; pure driving time approx. 5–6 hours + game drives

Khwai region – Chobe National Park (Savuti region)
Today takes you from the edge of the Okavango Delta to the remote Savuti region in the south-western part of Chobe National Park. The scenic contrast is impressive: after the shallow floodplain landscapes of the Khwai region, you now explore dry, almost desert-like savannah landscapes. The Savuti region is especially known for its high density of predators. Large lion prides and groups of hyenas – also called “clans” – lie in wait here for the many prey animals. Enjoy another night in Botswana's National Parks.
Day 6Chobe National Park (Savuti region)

Chobe National Park (Savuti region)
Driving distance: game drives
Look forward today to further extended game drives in one of the best regions for wildlife sightings in Botswana. The character and conditions of the Savuti region depend heavily on whether the Savuti Channel is flowing or dry. For over three decades, no water flowed here at all. In 2010, water from the Savuti Channel reached the marshland again for the first time. Today nobody can say exactly whether and when the water will flow. In any case, you have plenty of time to enjoy the small and big moments of a game drive and, together with your professional guide, to get to know the wildlife intensively. You end the evening together around the campfire under the sparkling starry sky.
Day 7Chobe National Park (Savuti region) – Chobe National Park (River Front)
Driving distance: approx. 150 km; pure driving time approx. 4–5 hours + game drives

Chobe National Park (Savuti region) – Chobe National Park (River Front)
Your next camp lies in the north-eastern part of the vast, wildlife-rich Chobe National Park. After breakfast, your camp crew takes care of taking down the tents as always, while you and your guide already set off on game drives that bring you towards your new campsite. Today takes you partly through the National Park and partly through Chobe Forest Reserve, until you reach the Chobe River Front. Chobe is known for its very high number of elephants, which move through the park in large herds. On the banks of the Chobe River, you can watch not only elephants but also many buffalo, hippos, antelope and big cats. You spend another night in your cosy tent.
Day 8Chobe National Park (River Front)

Chobe National Park (River Front)
You can enjoy your last full safari day to the full. Together with your guide and fellow travellers, you explore the surroundings of the Chobe River. As the park's most important water source, it is a draw for numerous wild animals. In the afternoon, another highlight awaits to round off your safari: on a boat trip on the Chobe River, you can change perspective and watch the wildlife from the water. Elephants often come to drink and splash in the river – a truly special experience. In the evening, your camp crew spoils you once more with a tasty meal. Enjoy a drink by the campfire and let your gaze wander across the sparkling starry sky.
