Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Your guided Kenya safari begins with a highlight. From bustling Nairobi, you drive straight to one of the best places for wildlife viewing in the world: the Masai Mara.
After a short briefing, you set off west in your 4×4 Land Cruiser. As the high-rises disappear and acacias appear, you head deeper and deeper into Masai country.
In the afternoon, you go on your first game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Look out for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes and the many other animals that await you on a safari in Kenya.
Your safari guide shares his knowledge of the wildlife and ecosystem of the Masai Mara with you. You will be surprised how much you experience and learn on the very first day of your safari.
As the shadows lengthen, you make your way to Basecamp Masai Mara on the Talek River, where you spend the next three nights.
Day 2Masai Mara Game Reserve

Masai Mara Game Reserve
Look forward to a whole day of game drives through the wonderful Masai Mara.
If you visit the Mara during the Great Migration, stop at the Mara River, where – with a little luck – you can watch wildebeest and zebras crossing the river among the crocodiles.
All year round you can watch many animals in the Mara and have the chance to spot the Big Five and many more. With the wind in your hair, pause and let the endless expanse and breathtaking beauty of nature sink in.
You spend another night at Basecamp Masai Mara, just outside the game reserve. As animals do not respect boundaries, you should also keep an eye out for wildlife in the camp while enjoying a sundowner before dinner.
Day 3Masai Mara Game Reserve

Masai Mara Game Reserve
On another day in the Mara, you can immerse yourself completely in the nature of this wildlife paradise. In a relaxed way, you experience the small moments that make a safari something very special.
Explore the different corners of the game reserve and gain a deep insight into the local flora and fauna.
Together with your guide, you observe the behaviour and social structures of the animals while looking out for rare species.
No day in the bush is like another. So today, too, you can look forward to an exciting day in nature. You return once more to Basecamp Masai Mara, where you round off your time in the Mara by the cosy fire.
Day 4Masai Mara region – Lake Naivasha
Driving distance approx. 225 km; pure driving time approx. 5–6 hours

Masai Mara region – Lake Naivasha
You leave the Masai Mara region and travel on to Lake Naivasha, Kenya's flower capital and one of the few freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley.
Around midday, you reach your accommodation on the lake and can spend the afternoon however you please. Book a boat trip on the lake and spot some of the more than 500 bird species, take a stroll around the lodge grounds or relax by the pool with a book.
Take time for yourself and relax before the exciting safari experiences of the coming days. Today you stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Day 5Lake Naivasha – Amboseli Conservancy
Driving distance approx. 360 km; pure driving time approx. 7 hours

Lake Naivasha – Amboseli Conservancy
Rested and relaxed, you set off today towards Amboseli National Park.
We use the Southern Bypass to avoid the traffic in the capital and then join the Mombasa Road as far as Emali. From here it is straight on to the national park.
If the weather plays along, you can enjoy a unique view from here: Tanzania's Kilimanjaro with its snow-capped Uhuru Peak towers in the background while elephants wander majestically among the acacias.
On the drive to the camp for the next two nights, you can see not only elephants in the Elerai Community Conservancy but, with a little luck, the other members of the Big Five too.
Your home for the next two nights is Elerai Camp. The camp has its own waterhole, where you can enjoy impressive wildlife viewing against the dreamlike backdrop of Kilimanjaro.
Day 6Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park
With a packed lunch in your bag, you set off in the morning on full-day game drives within Amboseli National Park.
Although the park lies in a warm and dry region, the melting snow of Kilimanjaro turns Amboseli into a green oasis in the rainy season.
Follow in the footsteps of the elephants and, together with your safari guide, observe the animals' highly developed social behaviour. Along the way you may also see cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras and waterbuck. Enjoy every unique moment and let yourself be enchanted.
After an exciting day, you return to Elerai Camp.
Day 7Amboseli Conservancy – Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West is one of the largest parks in the country and the setting for countless wilderness experiences. Today you explore this national park, known for its varied landscapes, on an afternoon game drive.
Mountains, savannah, thorn scrub and forests are home to many animal species, including the rare Hunter's hartebeest. Tonight you stay at Severin Safari Camp.
By now you have become a real safari expert, have seen different landscapes and animal species and learned a great deal from your safari guide. It is time to relax.
