We are always delighted to receive feedback from our guests. All visitors return from Africa with new impressions, and many are struck by the seemingly endless expanses, the impressive wildlife, the unique landscapes and the friendly people. Here you can read some of the accounts and experiences we have received from our guests.
Where our guests have been

We took a guided tour in a small group. The tour was truly wonderful. Perfectly organised, pleasant company and beautiful views. We would book a trip through Elefant Tours again and again!

This private trip (booked with Elefant Tours, carried out by Namibia Experience) was something very special – very varied, diverse and intense!

Our driver-guide Felix was very friendly, attentive and helpful. He is a very safe driver with eagle eyes for wildlife sightings, who certainly deserves a large share of our positive feedback.
We had wished for a German-speaking guide. Felix needs to improve his German. The accommodation chosen was very nice. Each place had its own charm.

Being able to experience Namibian wildlife is of course a highlight and was complemented for us by a visit to the CCF, rhino tracking at Otjiwa Lodge (fantastic!), the great Living Desert Tour and the Ocean Adventures Tour. Getting to know the various ethnic groups (Himba village, Damara Living Museum, Mondesa Township Tour) also greatly enriched our trip (even though I had not imagined the Herero Women Project to be purely sales stalls).

Ms Kayssler (Elefant Tours) turned our wishes into a great programme. She was always able to answer our questions quickly and reliably. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Elefant Tours and Namibia Experience who made the trip an unforgettable experience for us!

We can recommend Elefant-Tours without reservation and would especially like to thank Ms Franke, who planned our 3-week Namibia round trip with great commitment and professional expertise.

Even though we took a little longer to make our decision, she was friendly and helpful at all times and we always felt we were being very well advised.
When we ran into a problem in Namibia, we were helped without fuss within the shortest time. That showed us that support does not end with the booking.

Conclusion: from the first consultation to support along the way, everything simply fitted!
Anyone planning a tailor-made Namibia round trip who values personal advice, expertise and reliable support is in exactly the right place with Elefant-Tours.
In 2025, with Elefant-Tours, we were able to make a long-cherished dream come true: a 20-day self-drive tour through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe – from Windhoek via Etosha National Park to the impressive Victoria Falls.
The trip was prepared in close cooperation with Nicole Petersen, who supported us competently, very kindly and with great commitment at all times. She gladly worked our wishes for private camps into the route, so that a trip perfectly tailored to us came about.
Our adventure began with the pick-up of an almost new 4x4 vehicle in Windhoek. After a restful night at the Heinitzburg Boutique Hotel, the next morning we set off for Okonjima Nature Reserve, a privately run reserve dedicated to protecting cheetahs and leopards. There, on our safaris with our experienced ranger, impressive first encounters with the diverse wildlife awaited us.
From Okonjima Nature Reserve our journey took us on to Ongava Private Game Reserve, which was likewise organised by Ms Petersen exactly as we had imagined. Via Onguma Nature Reserve and Etosha National Park we then continued to the green, water-rich Kavango region – a lovely contrast to Namibia's otherwise rather dry landscapes.
Another highlight of our trip was Nambwa Tented Lodge, where we were able to experience wildlife up close. For example, we had the extraordinary opportunity to watch a leopard very close to our tent, which noisily drove off a pride of lions in the night. The crowning finale of our trip was Victoria Falls, whose impressive beauty we were able to experience up close from the air on a helicopter flight.
For us, this trip was without doubt “the trip of a lifetime”. We would not have expected to be able to experience such diverse wildlife in its natural habitat. Together with the carefully chosen camps and hotels, and the encounters and conversations with other travellers and our rangers, these experiences will stay with us forever.
Dear Ms Petersen, we would like to thank you warmly for your patience, your flexibility and your professional care. You put together an unforgettable trip for us! Even though we are only getting in touch now, we would like to express our thanks. Your personal and competent manner made this trip something special for us. We are happy to recommend you to every traveller to Africa and, on any future Africa trip, would count on your support again at any time.
Warm greetings from the two of us in Munich!
Martina and Bernhard R.

Our self-drive trip for two in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe was a dream.
Mr Meyer's perfect organisation was outstanding. Everything worked out brilliantly!

We experienced a wonderful mix of impressive nature, glorious colours, friendly people everywhere and incredibly great wildlife.

The people we met love their country and, on excursions and game drives, walks and boat trips, gave us an insight into another world that we will draw on for a long time.

It was a trip like none we have ever had before! Thank you so much!
In June, my daughter and I booked the Namibia round trip “Fascination Namibia” as a mini-group tour.
What can I say – simply perfect all round!
Right from the start, Ms Petersen advised us extremely well and was always available for any questions. Five stars for that alone!
Our driver and guide Aaron gave us a comprehensive insight into the nature, culture, political situation and plant and animal life of “his” country. He was an extremely professional, committed, considerate and humorous companion!
As a group we all greatly enjoyed his company. We were lucky to quickly form a very well-functioning small group of just six participants (three couples), so that this part of the trip also contributed greatly to our satisfaction.
The lodges were well chosen and comfortable, often with an African flair, the food excellent (though very meat-heavy, albeit of outstanding quality). Aaron was extremely keen to give us plenty of wildlife sightings.
The route was well chosen, and I can only say that everything worked perfectly from the start with the airport pick-up through to the end, with an additional transfer (we had booked an extra night near Windhoek before the flight home). Simply everything top-notch, a real “dream trip” for us.
Namibia is a beautiful country. You should, however, be prepared to spend many hours on the road or track, and these 13 days really do include a very full programme.
Namibia is a big country. But anyone who embraces a trip where “the journey is as much the destination” will be rewarded with many impressions, including small ones! An incredibly diverse country!
A second or perhaps third time is not ruled out for us! There is still a lot to see.
For Elefant-Tours, five stars in everything. We were thrilled and flew home with regret, but also happy and full of impressions!!
Our three-week round trip through Namibia was actually supposed to take place in 2025, but had to be postponed by a year because of knee surgery.
Our contact, Ms Petersen, was very understanding and accommodating, so that the trip in July and August 2026 was a complete success!
We had a wonderful 25 days in which our local guide Felix drove us safely and soundly over 4,800 km on the private tour through this great country, and we learned a great deal about the country's history, the different cultures and the wildlife and plant life.
Thank you very much!
Thomas E. and family
We are back, happy and satisfied. Back from Namibia on Sunday, back at work on Monday – that was a small shock.
The stay was lovely, although, as requested, we had a tight schedule. At some lodges we would gladly have stayed another day, as there was a lot to see and do there; at others the time was enough.
The lodges chosen ranged from extremely comfortable to simple, whatever you were still able to find in the short time.
We trusted your experience and were not disappointed. If we make a second trip, we will get in touch earlier to make your work easier and will bring in the experience we have now gained.

The individually planned self-drive trip “Camping adventure between waterfalls and desert” with a 4×4 camper and roof tent took us to regions off the classic tourist trails.

As in previous years, this year too we were advised competently and professionally and supported by Nicole in choosing accommodation as part of our planning activities.

Both the accommodation and the flights were booked through Elefant-Tours. The combination of camping in the midst of nature and occasional nights in lodges had a particular appeal for us. During the road trip of almost 3 weeks, Nicole Petersen of Elefant-Tours was always on hand as a very reliable contact, helping with advice and action.

Among the highlights of the trip were undoubtedly the varied and challenging drive on the D3700 along the border river Kunene to Epupa Falls, which on some stretches demands a lot even of an experienced 4×4 driver, and an excursion into the scenically magnificent Khowarib Gorge.

One thing is certain for me: I will be coming back to Namibia next year too!

We came back last week from our 3-week Namibia trip and it was the perfect holiday for us. It was our first Africa trip and we were amazed how easy Namibia is to travel, even for first-timers.

We drove just under 4,000 km and for the most part the routes were easy to manage. In the south it gets a bit bumpier in places. Many lodges and guest farms were beautiful; we were most taken with the small, personally run farms.

A trip through Namibia is doable for anyone, and you never forget the beautiful impressions. Particularly impressive were Fish River Canyon and the desert at Sossusvlei and Swakopmund.

Etosha is wonderful to drive through in a rental car; we saw an endless number of animals, an unforgettable experience.
Many thanks to Ms Kayssler, who was immediately there even with small problems. If we travel to Namibia again, we will definitely turn to you once more.

16-day dream holiday from Namibia to Victoria Falls
The four of us set off in July on our Namibia small-group tour. Already at the airport we were warmly welcomed by our wonderful guide Obi. Overall our travel group was a very relaxed and likeable group of 9, aged 23 to 83.
In a comfortable Sprinter from Windhoek to the red dunes at Sossusvlei, from there via Swakopmund to Etosha National Park, then via Botswana to Victoria Falls. We went on the safaris in the parks in open vehicles.

There was so much to discover: the different landscapes, the people and above all the animals. Obi could tell us so much from his personal experience and his wealth of knowledge about the country and its history and especially about the wildlife. That made the drives from one lodge to the next very entertaining.

For him, looking after guests is a calling; you notice straight away how much he enjoys it. He caters to all the wishes of the travel group and is very concerned that everyone is happy. He stays calm in every situation and finds a solution for every problem and every wish.
We felt very comfortable. The various lodges were very well chosen, and there was a bit of a safari feel by the river, which our daughters especially loved. The organisation of the trip and the excursions was very good.

As we travelled in July, the temperatures were very pleasant: cool in the morning and evening and warm during the day, but very bearable. You can really travel with light luggage; a jumper and a warmer jacket should be included. I can recommend the trip wholeheartedly, especially with Obi as guide.
Many thanks to Obi and the entire organising team.
Elefant-Tours put together a dreamy self-drive round trip through Namibia for us. The digital presentation of the chosen route was ideal and the professional care and advice helped us greatly. We can only recommend this provider!

Dream trip Namibia – we could not have wished for better!
Our 20-day self-drive trip through Namibia was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The organisation by Elefant-Tours was outstanding and throughout the entire trip we could rely on everything being perfectly prepared.

The planning with Larissa Walter was already straightforward and very pleasant. Our wishes were catered to at all times and we always had the feeling of being advised personally and honestly. We were also pleasantly surprised by the free meeting with a local contact straight after our arrival in Namibia. For a self-drive trip in particular this was great support. We could clear up last questions, received many practical tips and so started our holiday with a really good feeling.
We were especially impressed by the well-thought-out route planning. Only afterwards did we realise how cleverly the trip was structured. Etosha National Park was deliberately planned only towards the end of the trip – and that is exactly what we would do again today.

In the first few days we were delighted by every single wildlife sighting. Every oryx, every springbok, every zebra or giraffe was something special. Outside the national parks the animals are much shyer and you often have to spot them first. That is exactly what makes these encounters so exciting and unforgettable.
When we finally reached Etosha, it was like the grand finale of the trip. Suddenly elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes and huge herds were standing right in front of our car – an incredible experience.

We are convinced that we would not have appreciated the wildlife viewing outside Etosha National Park nearly as intensely had the trip started with Etosha. After the spectacular sightings there, oryx, springboks or zebras would probably quickly have become the norm. As it was, our enthusiasm for every single animal lasted throughout the entire trip, and Etosha was the perfect high point at the end. In our view, this order enormously enhanced our travel experience and shows how much experience goes into planning this route.
The choice of accommodation also impressed us. Every lodge had its own charm and was in a special place. Particularly memorable were Greenfire Desert Lodge, Grootberg Lodge, Onguma Bush Camp and Otjiwa. Everywhere we were warmly welcomed and felt at home straight away.

Namibia itself even exceeded our expectations. Breathtaking landscapes, fascinating wildlife, hospitable people and the freedom of a self-drive trip make this country a truly special destination.
A heartfelt thank you to Larissa Walter and the entire Elefant-Tours team for the outstanding organisation and this dreamy trip. We are taking countless beautiful memories home with us and are sure of one thing: this was not our last Africa trip with Elefant-Tours!
A clear 5 out of 5 stars and a wholehearted recommendation!

A fantastic trip with great organisation: you always felt safe and well looked after, and the choice of route and lodges was brilliant!

Outstanding 13-day private family trip in Namibia
We recently took a fantastic 13-day private Namibia round trip as a family of four, organised by Elefant-Tours / Namibia Experience, and were extremely satisfied with the entire experience .
From the start, communication and contact with Elefant-Tours in Germany were excellent. All enquiries were answered promptly and professionally, and the planning phase was smooth, efficient and confidence-building. This high level of service gave us the assurance that the trip would be well organised – and our expectations were fully met.

The whole trip was exceptionally well organised. The transport, route planning, choice of routes and selection of lodges were thoughtfully put together. We particularly appreciated the carefully chosen places for lunch and dinner, which allowed us to enjoy both local cuisine and beautiful surroundings throughout the trip.
A special thank you goes to our guide and driver Norman. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, punctual and highly professional. His extensive knowledge of Namibia's wildlife, landscapes and culture added enormously to the value of the trip. Thanks to his excellent driving skills we always felt safe, and his organisation and eye for detail ensured that everything went smoothly from start to finish. Norman also deserves special mention for surprising two family members on their birthdays during the trip, which made those occasions particularly unforgettable.

The accommodation was another highlight of the trip. Most lodges offered spacious, comfortable rooms or chalets, excellent amenities, friendly staff and lovely local activities. Breakfast and dinner were largely very good and contributed positively to the overall experience.
Our favourite lodges were:
- Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch
- Otjohotozu Guestfarm
- Damaraland Lodge
- Mushara Lodge (excellent overall, although the WiFi connection could be improved)
- Frans Indongo Lodge
These places stood out for comfort, atmosphere, service and overall quality .
There were a few minor points of criticism during the trip. Etosha Omusati Lodge did not quite reach the level of the other accommodation – with limited WiFi access, unreliable hot water and a less satisfying dinner.

As a suggestion for future trips, we would like to propose that the lodges place even more emphasis on traditional Namibian cuisine and regional specialities. Although the quality of the food was mostly very good, a wider choice of local dishes would further enrich the authentic cultural experience and allow guests to discover Namibia through its culinary traditions as well.
Overall this was an unforgettable family adventure and an excellent way to discover Namibia. We warmly recommend Elefant-Tours / Namibia Experience to anyone looking for a well-organised, comfortable and authentic travel experience. With Norman as our guide, the trip exceeded our expectations and created memories that will stay with us for many years to come.
Thank you very much!

Our self-drive trip based on the Namibia highlights was a complete success. The country is so diverse and impressive, and our individually planned route took us to many wonderful places and people. I would like to single out especially Ms Brode and Mr Meyer of Elefant-tours.

From the start they were always easy to reach and helped with advice and action, especially when part of our group could only set off a few days later because of illness.
We felt very well looked after. Many thanks!

The trip to Namibia was grand, fantastic and beautiful in an almost unreal way – simply one of a kind. Everything simply fitted: the impressive landscapes, the carefully chosen places and the dreamy lodges. Our guide Hans was a real asset to the whole tour.

With his extensive knowledge of Namibia's history, landscapes and nature, he brought the country closer to us in a special way. His passion for the country, his experience and his warm manner made this trip something very special. Unforgettable impressions and beautiful memories will stay with us for a long, long time.

4 weeks in Namibia – a dream trip.

For us as self-drivers, everything was thought of, from the daily driving distance to the perfect lodges chosen, the game drives and, and, and.

Everything perfect. And my partner, who was a little sceptical at first, was completely euphoric and did not want to travel home at all. Thanks for everything.

Our Namibia trip was simply breathtaking. Although we were there in the rainy season, we saw an incredible number of animals.

Everything was there – except for the leopard, which was still hiding in the green thicket. But then we simply have to go back – such “bad luck” 😉

It was truly pure pleasure from start to finish. We are in love with Namibia. Incredible landscapes, breathtaking wildlife sightings, impressive people – simply everything your heart desires. But a picture says more than a thousand words…

Our round trip through southern Africa was an unforgettable experience! The route offered a perfect mix of desert, sea, safari adventure and the majestic Victoria Falls – plus impressive landscapes and fascinating flora and fauna.
Thanks to our likeable and extremely experienced guide we felt very well looked after at all times. The accommodation was varied – partly luxurious, partly rather basic. Especially with the high temperatures, we would have liked air conditioning in some lodges.
We were especially thrilled by the diversity of the wildlife: we actually got to see all of the “Big Five” and gained deep insights into the lives and behaviour of the animals.

The encounters with the other travellers were also very pleasant – a great group with many lovely shared moments.
In Botswana we experienced beautiful landscapes, but it was very touristy there. Because of the large number of boat safaris, the animals are noticeably disturbed in their habitat in places – that gave us pause for thought.
The programme overall was very extensive, which meant the days were often long and intense. Unfortunately that left little time to enjoy the lodges, as there was a change of location almost every day. Around the middle of the trip it would have been nice to spend a second night in the same lodge, to come to rest a little and experience the surroundings more intensively.
Conclusion:
A breathtaking trip that we will never forget – full of natural wonders, exciting impressions and unforgettable encounters.

We are still blown away, we enjoyed the holiday very, very much! We had a wonderful honeymoon.
Everything worked out brilliantly and we are very glad we booked the holiday through Elefant-Tours, as it let us explore the country independently as self-drivers while still having the security of an organisation in the background in case we needed help.

We spent 2 nights in each place, so we could enjoy every place, were not “just passing through” and had a relaxed travelling pace; we would do it that way again every time!
We really liked all the individual places, some more than others of course, but overall it was really perfect for us and there is no place where we would not stay again. Everywhere the people were helpful and super friendly, the rooms great and the food, absolutely always, really very tasty!

Our highlight was clearly Hoodia Desert Lodge, simply because everything fitted, both the programme (for our wedding anniversary ;)) and the people, above all our guide who looked after us, the food and the ambience. We also liked Otjiwa Collection and Mokuti Lodge very much; here the outings and programme items were our highlights.

Overall, in hindsight we could even have spent 1–2 nights longer in/near Etosha.
If we ever return, we would book one or 2 nights inside Etosha Park, which we imagine would be very nice as well, also because you can be in the park for longer. The boat trip in Swakopmund was very impressive despite the fog.

In conclusion, we can only say that we had a great holiday in a beautiful country, which we enjoyed very much! We are truly very grateful for the help and support beforehand from Ms Petersen, which made the trip very relaxed on the ground and let us enjoy everything a little more carefree!
Should friends of ours also want to book a Namibia trip, we will recommend Elephant-Tours warmly!

As Africa newcomers, the four of us took a self-drive round trip with 16 nights in Namibia in September. We were highly satisfied with the organisation and care from Elefant-Tours in the person of Ms Petersen (and, as her stand-in, Ms Seitz).

All our wishes and ideas were turned into a perfectly planned trip. The lodges chosen were wonderful, apart from the state-run camp Okaukuejo (but we knew that in advance). We had deliberately decided not to visit the south, but rather to spend 2 nights in a row in one place as often as possible. For us this was exactly right.
You do have to factor in that you spend a great deal of time in the car to visit this big, impressive country. And so we almost always had one day on site to join excursions and game drives.
Particularly memorable were the kayak trip among the seals in Swakopmund / Walvis Bay, the sunrise at Sossusvlei, the morning walk in Erongo, the desert elephants at Twyfelfontein and the lion family at Onguma Bush Camp.

The suggestion to enter Etosha Park from Galton Gate was also spot on. The western part is still much quieter than the eastern. We were also very happy with the choice of vehicle for four (nearly new, 4x4, large).
In short: it was a wonderful (dream) trip in magnificent nature with an absolutely recommendable travel provider. Thank you very much!!

Our trip through Namibia was an unforgettable experience – a wonderful holiday full of impressive moments and unique impressions.
The accommodation was exceptional and consistently very tasteful – every stop had its very own charm and helped us feel completely at ease.

It was particularly pleasant that we never felt surrounded by crowds of tourists. The peace and vastness of the country let us breathe deeply and truly switch off.
Our rental car was in almost new condition and absolutely reliable – an important factor on a self-drive tour that took us through some remote regions.

The whole tour was excellently prepared. You could tell that a lot of attention to detail had gone into the planning. For future trips, however, we would recommend allowing at least two nights per stop – that leaves more time to enjoy the surroundings and really arrive.

Namibia is a country that may look uniform at first glance – but behind every bend and every hill a new scene is hidden, which surprises and delights.
Sometimes the landscape looks as if it had been painted: colours, shapes and light merge into a picture you never forget.

Experiencing the wildlife in its natural surroundings was simply magical – a quiet, reverent moment that moves you deeply.
A special thank you goes to Ms Petersen, who took care of everything with great commitment. We felt in the best hands at all times and were able to enjoy the trip to the full.

Perfectly organised dream trip in Namibia.
For 40 years I had dreamed of an Africa trip. This year the dream came true: with my husband and grown-up daughter I enjoyed the 10-day camping tour with a private guide, followed by 4 additional nights in various lodges.

Even beforehand, the communication and advice from the tour operator were excellent, especially with regard to the flight dates (better ticket prices) and the route, slightly modified on request.
The tour itself is wonderfully designed, a perfect mix of magnificent scenery and great game drives. And when you see a giraffe up close for the first time, a herd of elephants at a waterhole or hundreds of zebras accompanied by various groups of antelope, the happiness is already very great.
And we will never forget the lion that strolled calmly past the waterhole in front of us. Scenic highlights were the dunes of the Namib and the starry sky at Gamsberg.

Our guide was brilliant – very friendly, competent, flexible and yet always good with the schedule, and on top of that a great cook. We learned far more about the country than we had expected.
No question went unanswered. And last but not least, our guide led us camping beginners calmly and patiently through the adventure of camping in Africa. In fact, thanks to the good equipment and the lovely campsites, it was very relaxed.
We would not want to have missed these 10 days of camping.

The 4 nights in lodges (then without a guide, but with organised transfers) were a good idea – after the eventful travel and safari days it was nice to be able to let the impressions sink in and truly unwind again in the cosy accommodation.
In addition, in the game parks and rescue centres we were able to see the animals that had been hiding from us until then (cheetahs, leopards).
Namibia is certainly an uncomplicated travel destination anyway, but thanks to the good trip preparation and our considerate guide we felt 100% safe at all times – without the sense of adventure being short-changed.
We would book through Elefant-Tours again at any time and can recommend both the operator and the format of a camping tour with a private guide without reservation.

Dear Elefant-Tours team
Thank you very much for the detailed, friendly advice and booking that actively responded to our wishes.

The itinerary “Namibia Highlights” lived up to its promise, all arrangements went smoothly and the accommodation chosen was truly excellent, yet each place different.

The staff there were always competent and friendly and the quality of the food consistently excellent. A truly great holiday experience! THANK YOU

Dear Ms Walter,
it is now almost a year since, with your help, we were able to experience a great Namibia trip. I would like to thank you most warmly for that and for your great support in the preparation.

It was an impressive travel experience with many facets. The lodges and hotels were first-class. The food superb.

The tour guiding could not have been better: we had Hans as tour guide, a Namibian-German institution, a real ranger with comprehensive knowledge of land/people/animals/stars… And we had Usuhna, a young Namibian training to be a tour guide, who grew up in the GDR during the war years and today has a quite different view of his country from Hans. Sometimes unbridgeable contrasts, but they also showed us the country's problems.

The nature was breathtaking and sooo varied. We were spoiled with wildlife sightings – even lions and a leopard.
It was a success all round!!

I can only recommend everyone to visit Namibia at this time of year (November/December) and with your company.
Once again heartfelt thanks and best wishes to you personally,
Kathrin Biolik

We visited Namibia for 16 days as self-drivers. It was important to us that at the start we could visit our niece in Gobabis. Ms N. Petersen took this into account and put the round trip together.
It really was a dream trip. The daily routes by car were very well planned. Navigation with OsmAnd maps worked perfectly. The lodges were easy to find.

We particularly liked the different lodges. From “simple” to “exquisite”, from “touristy” to “quiet”. Now we are able to take these insights into account for a next trip.
If you can say you would do the trip again with small adjustments, that says it all.
We had a dream trip with many great, unforgettable moments.
From 22 June 2025 to 20 July 2025 we travelled in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
We travelled for 18 days as self-drivers through Namibia and then for 12 days on a small-group tour through Botswana with a stay in Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls.
It was an absolute dream trip, which Ms Petersen of Elefant-Tours put together for us. The daily routes were well planned, not too long, so that we could often still go on game drives in the afternoon; the lodges, guesthouses and tented camps were simply top-notch.
Everything worked out superbly. Our highlights were lots and lots of animals at Etosha Pan, the helicopter flight over Victoria Falls and, finally, the stay at Setari Camp in the Okavango Delta. Simply incredibly beautiful.
We can only recommend Elefant Reisen. This dream trip was absolutely outstanding.
It was a wonderful trip through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The care from Elefant-Tours was very good. The trip was perfectly organised and our guide Mathias very obliging and friendly. We felt very comfortable and travelled home a little wistful but with many lovely impressions.
Hello Ms Kayssler,
I do not even know where to start.
We had a dream trip with many great, unforgettable moments.
The varied landscapes, the many different wildlife sightings and perfectly chosen lodges made the holiday an unforgettable experience.
I think if, after a holiday like this, you can say you would do it the same way again (with small adjustments), that says a lot.
Thank you very much for the great planning, support and the documents provided.
The perfect briefing by Ms Petersen also took away many uncertainties for us.
Of course, everything is also down to the fortunate circumstance that there were no incidents.
We never felt we were in danger, nor did we feel uncomfortable anywhere, and the car, too, worked perfectly (not even a puncture).
Perhaps a few more remarks:
- The route and distances turned out to be very manageable and we would do it the same way again
- Next time we would always stay at least two nights. One night makes no sense
- Whether you need to stay 2 nights each at Anderson Gate and Lindequist Gate can be questioned
- A stay at Fish River Canyon only makes sense in combination with a night in the lodge directly at the canyon, as we had it
- In the assessment of the lodges with their respective offerings, one falls short of all the others, namely Elegant Desert Lodge (far from Sossusvlei, the lodge's surroundings not really appealing, rooms in a terrace – no individual bungalows)
Thank you very much and all the best.

Our self-drive trip from Windhoek to Victoria Falls in May 2025 was a wonderful experience.
On previous trips of this kind we have generally done the planning and booking ourselves. In hindsight, we can say that working with Ms Walter and the Elefant Tours team on this trip was a perfect decision.

The competent, accurate and realistic statements and recommendations saved us from planning mistakes and contributed to our trip working out perfectly and, in my opinion, being worth every extra euro.

In May 2025 we travelled through Namibia, Botswana and, to finish, the impressive Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe on a 24-day, individually put-together self-drive tour.

Almost a year in advance, Nicole Petersen supported us with the planning. She turned our wishes and ideas into reality promptly and worked out suitable proposals. She also implemented requests for changes straight away, was always reachable, reliable and friendly – every phone call with her made us look forward to our trip even more.
A great service – heartfelt thanks, Nicole!

We were delighted by the personal meeting in Swakopmund , which confirmed our very positive impression. The self-drive briefing with Sven Schmidt offered by Elefant-Tours was also very helpful for a relaxed car trip through Namibia.
Namibia is a fantastic country!

The endless expanses, varied landscapes, very hospitable people who always welcomed us warmly, fascinating, exciting wildlife encounters and the great lodges in special places left us with unforgettable memories.

Many thanks to Elefant-Tours, but especially to Nicole Petersen, for the perfect organisation of our trip.

We have already had the privilege three times of travelling to beautiful Namibia. Each time the country fascinated us anew. The people, the nature, the wildlife and the absolute freedom – breathtaking every time.
Whether central Namibia, the hot Kalahari Desert or the green, beautiful north. Namibia is always worth a trip.

We would like to praise the Elefant-Tours team here! Thanks to you, too, the trip becomes something unforgettable! The traveller is not just a customer or a number, and your hearts are in it!
Here too, many thanks for your constant support in the individual planning of our self-drive tours.

Thanks also for the patience and commitment. And a special thank you to Ulrike Joubert, who stood by us on the last trip and the coming one! 🙂
We can hardly wait until we can travel to Namibia again in September 2025 and also get a taste of “crossing over” to Botswana.

The experiences we have had in Namibia have been positive throughout. We can recommend everyone to travel to this country! You will be thrilled and will not regret it!
And if Africa – then with Elefant-Tours. 😉

We document our trips on our YouTube channel “J&A Adventures”. In this short film we show what inspires us and fascinates us about this country.
Do drop by.
Best wishes
Jenny & Alex
Dear Ms Kayssler,
Thank you very much for your message. We have landed back in Germany healthy and well, with fantastic impressions and above all very rested.
We enjoyed the trip very much from start to finish, everything worked wonderfully and was well planned by you.
The briefing by Sven Schmidt was also very good support, which we would not want to have missed.
During our trip we made brief notes on the hotels/lodges. Of course this only reflects our taste, but perhaps it is helpful anyway.
Windhoek: The Elegant Guesthaus: lovely, friendly, good location
Kalahari Game Ranch: upgrade to Dune Lodge: fantastic
Keetmanshoop: Quiver In Guesthouse: ok, thin walls
Fish River Lodge: dreamy, the last kilometres could only be driven with a 4×4 and sufficient ground clearance, 2 nights perfect
Klein-Aus Vista Desert Horse Inn: good, lovely location
Green Desert Lodge: fantastic, warm, we would have liked to stay 2 nights there
Elegant Desert Camp: fantastic, lovely location for dinner,
Cornerstone Guesthouse, tidy, very friendly, helpful, generous breakfast
Twyfelfontein Country Lodge: lovely location, lovely room, food rather below average
Grootberg Lodge: great location, very friendly, food good, 2 days perfect
Hobatere Lodge: great location, food good, room ok, very warm (no air conditioning)
Etosha Safari Lodge: room good, food good, 1 day would have been enough
Mokuti Etosha: top! here we would have liked an additional day simply relaxing by the pool
Waterberg Guestfarm: beautiful, here too we would have liked to stay 2 nights
Thank you again for the smooth and good organisation; we are happy to recommend Elefant-Tours.
Kind regards
Stefanie and Michael Ruf

A perfectly organised 16-day trip (March/April 2025) through Namibia.
Whether driving distances, accommodation, sights or culture, everything was very well matched to our needs and interests and gave us many lovely impressions and unforgettable memories.

The endless expanses of the country with its varied landscapes, the wildlife viewing and the warm hospitality of the people are overwhelming.

Many thanks to Ms Kayssler for the tireless and competent advice and the ongoing care. We felt very well looked after.

We will gladly recommend Elefant-Tours and will happily come back to you ourselves at a suitable opportunity.
Elefant-Tours has been organising our individual self-drive tours in Namibia since 2010. Communication with Ms Verena Brode works superbly, and she is very reliable and competent. If problems arise during the trip, you can count on her quick help. You are never left alone.
In January / February 2025 we spent 6 weeks travelling in this beautiful country. It was our 7th tailor-made trip looked after by Elefant-Tours. I can highly recommend this travel agency.

From 14.07. – 03.08.2024 we booked the round trip Namibia's Diversity through Elefant-Tours. Mr Bernhard Forster recommended this trip to us. We greatly appreciated his friendly and expert advice. Whenever we had questions, he got back to us immediately. Top service :-).

Our trip with a group of six people will always stay in our memory as a dreamlike, unforgettable experience. We also have the fondest memories of our tour guide Mathias. He always took great care of the wishes and interests of all participants and of our wellbeing, and responded individually to each participant.

Thanks to his daily planning, after the day's programme we still had time to relax at the end of the day. The accommodation where we stayed was without exception very lovely, clean and in an excellent location. The wildlife viewing, including outside Etosha National Park (elephants, lions, giraffes etc.), was dreamlike, like everything else on the trip 🙂

In short, we are thrilled with Mr Forster's advice and can recommend Elefant-Tours wholeheartedly. When we next seek advice on an Africa trip, we will gladly contact Elefant-Tours for suggestions, based on our positive experiences.

A dream start to our sabbatical
Fairly spontaneously, we decided to take a three-and-a-half-week self-drive round trip through Namibia in September 24. Back in late 2018 we had already made a two-week family round trip through this beautiful country, and as Elefant-Tours' organisation had been outstanding even then, we used their services again.

Ms Nicole Petersen took a lot of time for us, listened carefully to our wishes and ideas and, in no time at all, created an absolute dream trip for us in which everything simply went perfectly. Despite the short lead time before the main trip, she managed to book really lovely accommodation for us, quite a few of which had a wow factor.
From Windhoek we headed south. Even the first accommodation, Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, was a dream. From our bungalow up on the dunes we had a wide view across the Kalahari. The game drive was also great, during which we saw the first animals straight away, such as rhinos, and the fascinating cheetah feeding followed by a sundowner. This is where we got our first spectacular wildlife photos.

We continued south to Keetmanshoop, where we could admire the very beautiful Quiver Tree Forest and the so-called Giant's Playground. Away from the main roads, but on an all the more beautiful route, we approached the eastern side of the Fish River Canyon.
At Canyon Roadhouse, our accommodation there, they repaired our flat tyre without any fuss … The Fish River Canyon is absolutely impressive. We had the pleasure of admiring it once more from the west the next day, when we spent the night at the beautifully situated Fish River Lodge. It is only 28 km as the crow flies from the eastern rim, but as we first had to drive around the canyon (a very beautiful route via the south, partly along the border with South Africa), we covered over 400 km. This long drive was absolutely worth it.

In the far west too, in Lüderitz, we had a very lovely place to stay with the Alte Villa. A catamaran cruise and a guided tour of the ghost town of Kolmanskop are well worth it here. On the way north, the accommodation (Greenfire Desert Lodge / Elegant Desert Camp) offered perfect conditions for night-time astrophotography. Sossusvlei, the Namib – simply beautiful.

In Swakopmund, Ms Petersen had reserved the best table for us at "Jetty 1905". Thank you! The "Living Desert Experience", where we encountered the Little Five, was also fantastic.
Via Damaraland, with a detour to the desert elephants near the Brandberg, we headed towards Etosha NP. Here we finally saw them: zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions and much more. We were very pleasantly surprised by the state-run Onkoshi Resort, right on the salt pan, which can easily keep up in quality with the private accommodation. Elephants walked right past our bungalow here.

But we also liked the simpler Waterberg Resort at the mountain of the same name – and on the morning game drive we finally got to see the buffalo. Particularly worth highlighting is certainly also the Onjala Lodge near the airport, which made the perfect end to our trip.
Thank you very much, dear Nicole, for the outstanding organisation of the trip and the lovely support throughout. Our next Africa trip with Elefant-Tours is already being planned!

Dear Ms Kayssler,
I would like to thank you warmly for the wonderfully planned trip. We have now been back in Germany for a week and I am only slowly arriving back here.

The trip left so many beautiful impressions and will always stay in my heart: the varied, colourful landscape; the light and vastness of the country; the warmth and hospitality of the people; the many loving details on the laid tables and getting to know nice fellow travellers….

Your selection of lodges and guesthouses/guest farms was sensational and was a wonderful surprise every time we arrived.

I wish you all the very best too and send you warmest greetings
Kerstin Scherer

We thank Elefant-Tours and especially Ms Petersen for the great advice and 3 unforgettable weeks in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Our self-drive tour was perfectly organised and guaranteed us this intense experience.

Thank you very much,
Rainer Merkhofer and Kerstin Paulick

An unforgettable Africa trip!

A perfectly organised 18-day trip through Namibia and Botswana to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Heartfelt thanks to Ms Kassler of Elefant Tours, especially for the excellent advice and the very good coordination of the schedule and selection of lodges.

We will always remember this fantastic trip
Marion Heidenreich and Birgit Binjung

A super perfectly organised 21-day trip through Namibia. We were newly delighted every day and could enjoy and take in the highlights of the beautiful landscapes and the sensational wildlife.

Thanks to Ms Petersen we were able to experience the many facets of this dreamlike country without any problems and in a relaxed way.

Dear Ms Kayssler,
after 16 days in Namibia we are now back and still revelling in memories of our lovely trip! Perhaps you would be interested in some details about our bookings?

Rental car: We were very satisfied with Europcar, very uncomplicated communication. When we told them we had a crack in the windscreen on the driver's side, they swapped our vehicle on arrival at our next destination. The vehicle return at the end of our trip was also quick and uncomplicated!
Accommodation: Namib Naukluft Lodge: VERY BEAUTIFULLY located lodge, rooms spacious, a little dated but clean. The staff are very friendly and obliging, you feel very welcome. Food: very good! The sundowner drive and the pool with a view over the open landscape were unforgettably lovely!!

Hohenstein Lodge: we had our large room with a spacious bathroom and lovely terrace in the already renovated part of the lodge. Everything very appealing and tasteful, BUT no air conditioning, only a fan, which did not bring much relief in this heat. We (or rather I!) did not want to leave the windows (with insect screens) open at night, as the room was the last in the row…
Camp Kipwe: fantastic!!!! Everything is right here: the very tasteful little round huts with open-air bathroom, the location in the red rocks, the view over the landscape, the very nice and obliging staff, the food, … our loveliest accommodation!!!

Fingerklip Lodge: also quite dated, but the landscape is what impresses here, it is unique! For 1 night 👍🏼.
Taleni Etosha Village: spacious individual little houses, somewhat "wild" in location, clean. Proximity to Etosha: it doesn't get much closer!
NWR camps in Etosha: I was appalled by the condition of the state-run camps (I only saw Okaukuejo and Halali). At lunchtime at Halali a few tourists were there for a meal, we only went to the beautifully located waterhole, which, however, was also quite run-down in terms of access and seating there.

The public toilets between the restaurant and the shop were in very poor condition: no toilet flush worked, of 6 washbasins only 3 taps were still fitted, none of which worked. Around 5 pm we drove into the camp once more; apart from 4 or 5 camping tents, the entire camp was empty.
Frans Indongo: a super tip!!! Very nice huts, very nice staff, all very attentive, delicious food!
Mt. Etjo Lodge: VERY BEAUTIFUL grounds, the rooms also dated but spacious and clean. The game drive is a MUST (we did 2), food good, there is still room for improvement with the management, not very attentive (perhaps because there are several; I knew the previous manager, who ran the lodge very committedly and personally) …on the other hand the service staff are very nice.

Flight with Discover: in terms of seat comfort, honestly an imposition on passengers for a long-haul flight, very little legroom, seating position actually unsuitable for sleeping. As a night flight with a sleep aid, though, OK
Thank you again very much for your valuable support in planning and carrying out our trip, I will gladly recommend you!
Warm regards
Karin Thelen

Dear Ms Petersen,
our trip to Namibia is now a month behind us and we are still full of the many experiences and impressions from it.

The trip planning was very pleasant, uncomplicated, and individual wishes were responded to immediately. The offer of a self-drive briefing with Sven Schmidt, which we gladly accepted, was also a great opportunity to receive many insider tips, advice and information.

There was no single highlight for us, as this varied country was a highlight in every place/region. All the accommodation was perfectly chosen and we felt very much at home throughout the trip.
Thank you very much for this great experience.

Our trip was organised very well for us. Ms Petersen took the time to talk with us and took our wishes and needs into account.

We had a wonderful, unforgettable trip!

Hello Ms Joubert
It was a great trip!
We were also lucky with the 4 other travellers and our driver/guide Rolf.
We liked the Elegant Desert Ecocamp best. We could have stayed there even longer. Perhaps two more tips for the camp: a ceiling fan would certainly be useful, and it would also be nice if breakfast could be served as a picnic basket on your own terrace at the Ecocamp (without having to drive 10 km to the lodge).
We also thought Mushara Bush Camp was great.
All in all, we can recommend this round trip.
Kind regards
Anja Piazza

Building on the travel module "Highlights of Namibia and Botswana", Ms Joubert/Kayssler adapted our almost 4-week trip perfectly to our wishes: Namibia section somewhat reduced, as we had been there a few years ago, with a longer Botswana section instead, such as Deception Valley on the edge of the Kalahari Game Reserve with Deception Valley Lodge – an absolute highlight both in terms of the journey there and back and the game drives.

The organisation of the vehicle's additional equipment (2nd spare tyre, tyre pressure gauge and compressor) also worked superbly. Heartfelt thanks again for that.

The trip itself was simply f a n t a s t i c in terms of organisation, accommodation, wildlife viewing and experiences, just like our first trip with Elefant-Tours a few years ago to Tanzania (Kili climb, Serengeti safari and Zanzibar), and travelling as a self-driver is another special experience, especially when you sometimes face the local wildlife on your own.

It was actually supposed to be my last trip to southern Africa (at 71, partly for reasons of age), but after this tour, which gave the Africa travel bug plenty of fresh nourishment, it will probably be very hard, perhaps even impossible, to keep to that resolution.

We would set off for Africa with Elefant-Tours again at any time.
Warm greetings from Bavaria, now shrouded in fog, and thank you once again for your efforts.
F. Süß and the whole family

Dear Ms Joubert
Our trip was simply great – above all because we experienced it together as a complete family, with grandmas and grandpa, parents and children. Because of this constellation too, it will remain unforgettable for us forever.
Beforehand we wondered whether we had planned too many safaris and whether we would get "bored". But every safari was different, and thanks to Namibia's varied landscape always different and exciting again.

The AfriCat Foundation was a great start and the location impressed us all greatly. Everyone was very nice and it was very personal. The atmosphere there is good and it carries over to the guests.
Etosha is of course a "must-see" in Namibia, and both the safari and the self-drive tour through it were marked by many animal sightings. The many waterholes and the dryness make this possible.
Namutoni was not so outstanding, but being right at the waterhole and heading out very early at least brought us a cheetah sighting in the early morning. That was incredible! We spotted him – a great feeling!
At Kaisosi River Lodge, too, we were welcomed very warmly, and the boat tour with a brief visit to Angola left a lasting impression.

We would particularly like to highlight Mobola Lodge – for us it was truly the epitome of Africa. The owners there, the people who work there, the island bar, the suspension bridge, the houses built in African style – it is a very special spot on earth.
Namushasha River Lodge was the opposite – much bigger, much more anonymous. Nevertheless – freshly renovated houses, pure luxury there (except for the food).
The safaris there by boat and by safari vehicle impressed us greatly. Plenty of water – the animals live very differently here from the interior of Namibia.

Our safari finale, and also an accommodation worth highlighting, was Chobe River Lodge. Small and very personal – and very tastefully furnished. Definitely to be recommended. The staff extremely obliging and friendly. Very good cuisine!!
The safari on the Chobe and the following day twice by car was special. The guides have respect for nature and animals, which we greatly appreciated throughout the whole trip.
On the last day we saw both a buffalo that had just been killed by 2 lions and a leopard in a tree not far away. And the many elephants are simply overwhelming every time.

Because of the drought, Vic Falls was rather sobering, and could be seen as a waterfall only up to a maximum of 500 metres. The accommodation Pioneers was classically British and spacious – really lovely, the different accommodation options.
The flights also all went smoothly. The border crossings too – the one into Zimbabwe was a little adventurous… Our finale in Cape Town turned out to be a lovely ending – you can really eat and shop superbly there.
Only our accommodation there – the Finchley Guest House – cannot really be recommended at present. The staff are very friendly and obliging, the location is great, but the rooms are simply completely worn, floors and bathrooms in need of renovation, windows and doors no longer close properly. But it is only a small drop of bitterness 😉

This trip with its incredible landscapes and animals fulfilled us greatly and will resonate with us for a lifetime.
Thank you very much for putting this great trip together for us and for bending it this way and that again and again to our ideas – for our next Africa trip we will certainly come back to you!
Thanks!
Nicole Schmoll

Hello dear Natascha,
we would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again, most warmly, for your consistently great advice and support on our first Namibia self-drive round trip.
Your country fascinated and thrilled us so much that we will definitely visit it again!

It was simply magical!
Thanks to your professional planning and personal advice, we were able to spend an absolutely trouble-free time.
Route, places, lodges, venues etc. were chosen more than perfectly for us.

The last overnight stay near the airport was also planned entirely correctly… good thing we listened to you! That way we could let all the impressions sink in in peace before everyday life in Germany caught up with us.
Many thanks also for the contact with Matthias! It was simply great!
We are attaching a few photos to this email, although we really can't decide which ones….. 😉

Whether we will recommend you? Of course! Already done long ago! 😊
Thanks for everything and all the best to you and your family!
Yours, Melanie and Andreas Stöber

Hello Ms von Zelewski,
We had a truly wonderful, eventful and varied time in Namibia! Thank you very much for your effort and the great preparation of our trip. The accommodation was all very clean and the service perfect. Certainly worth highlighting is Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp – the overnight stay in a "tent" in front of the red rocks was a great experience. The sundowner on the rocks at the little bar is unforgettable.
Our absolute highlight among the accommodation, however, is Otjohotozu Guest Farm. We felt very much at home with Christa and her team on both days, the game drive with Fritz was very entertaining, and Ethan's food was unbeatably good. Ghaub Farm was also a highlight in its own way – we were the only lodge guests in the secluded nature. Here we were also able to experience the absolute high point of our activities – a walk to the rhinos. Being at eye level with these mighty animals was an unforgettable experience!! Absolutely recommended!

Other highlights were certainly Etosha National Park, the quad bike tour with dune surfing and the Little Five near Swakopmund (Desert Explorers), the excursion to Deadvlei and the dunes, and the Living Museum of the San.
The evening sundowners, which we started in spectacular fashion at Namib Desert Lodge, we have kept alive at home. As you will guess, it was certainly not our last trip to this beautiful country with its many warm-hearted people. When the time comes, we will be very happy to get in touch with you again.
Best wishes from Lake Constance,
Tanja, Tim and Markus Heier

Dear Ms Petersen,
our Namibia trip was truly wonderful and we have come to love this fantastic country and its people. Heartfelt thanks for the great organisation of this trip, the tips and the individual, repeated talk-throughs of the route. Everything was superbly organised from the first minute to the last.

We can absolutely recommend Windhoek Game Lodge, which we booked ourselves. Wonderfully equipped tents, a lovely lodge ambience, warm German-speaking hosts, and the giraffe feeding in the morning is a dream, which was of course a highlight on our first morning in Namibia.
Followed by the many other highlights such as the balloon flight over the Namib, the cheetahs at Bagatelle Kalahari Lodge, and the wonderful Lodge Alte Kalkofen with great food and warm hosts.

Equally an experience was the safari in Chobe National Park from Chobe River Lodge, and of course beforehand the unique landscape of Namibia with its deserts, animals, mountains etc..
Warm regards
Petra and Frank
Dear Elefant-Tours team,
we would like to thank you most warmly for the outstanding organisation of our Namibia trip! From start to finish everything was perfectly planned – an unforgettable trip full of adventure and breathtaking experiences.
Thanks to your expertise, we were able to enjoy the diverse beauty of Namibia to the full, whether it was the impressive sand dunes of Sossusvlei, the fascinating wildlife in Etosha National Park or the vastness of the Namib Desert. We would particularly like to highlight the smooth handling on site, the friendly and competent guides and the perfectly chosen accommodation. You far exceeded our expectations!
We will certainly book with you again and recommend Elefant-Tours without reservation!
Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Dear Ms Joubert,
We were absolutely thrilled with Namibia and took home wonderful pictures and experiences. Our expectations of the country, the people, the food and the animals were definitely exceeded, and yes, it was a camping adventure – we have plenty of stories to tell!

Exploring Namibia on our own, the peace, the landscape, the animals, was a special kind of luxury and freedom for us, which we can definitely recommend to any adventurous couple.
Highlights for us were Etosha National Park, where in the West Gate area we would even add another day. The organisation and accommodation were superbly chosen; they should not be any further apart, because the roads are in part very bad and the driving times do not match the maps or Google. As a result, unfortunately, there is not much time left in the evening to relax at the accommodation, especially as campers.

The campsites were all great, especially those where we had the place to ourselves and could also buy or eat game meat. We particularly liked Onguma Camp, where elephants also came in the evening. We cannot recommend the guesthouse in Swakop, because of 15°C in the room and heating only from 1 Sep (we were there 30 Aug – 1 Sep).
We thank you most warmly for putting together a super route with truly great accommodation, which made a breathtaking trip possible! 🙂
All the best, Christoph & Angela
Ms Joubert put together a wonderful trip for us. On our self-drive tour we were able to experience many lovely things and stayed at accommodation where we were wonderfully welcomed and spoiled.
We came back with many beautiful memories of the country, the people and lots of animals. A huge thank you, happy to do it again.

Dear Ms Petersen,
We would like to thank you for the great organisation of our Namibia trip.
Everything was super, from the car to the lodges and especially the reservation for dinner at the Eagles Nest Restaurant in Vingerklippe Lodge, we were totally surprised.

Getting to know you personally was very nice and we hope we will have the chance to see you again.
We have already returned home. One time glad to see our loved ones again but another time part of our hearts stayed in Namibia.

What a beautiful country! We are very grateful that we were able to get to know this region and so many warm-hearted people. That will stay with us for a long time!
Kind regards
Maria and Bernardo
We spent three eventful weeks in Africa, gathered many new impressions and met nice people. At the lodges and guesthouses we were received very warmly and for the most part felt comfortable and safe. When problems arose, Ms von Zelewski took care of them immediately.
We would particularly like to highlight Rosedene Guesthouse, Cornerstone, Mobola and 528 Vic Falls, which we will remember especially fondly for their very personal and warm care. But we also felt well looked after at almost all the other accommodation (Progress Guest Farm, Okutala Etosha Lodge, Tlouwana Camp).

Dear Ms Petersen,
we are back from our trip safe and sound and I wanted to get in touch with you.
Our Namibia trip was simply superb. Everything worked out perfectly, everything was brilliantly organised, suited us completely and was great fun.

The mix of driving yourself, having a certain flexibility and freedom while at the same time having a well-worked-out route and knowing that everything is sorted at the accommodation in the evening gave us an unexpectedly relaxed holiday. The impressions we gathered are unforgettable and I almost think this was not our last trip to Africa.

The accommodation was all great, each in its own way. We really liked the variety and we were welcomed warmly everywhere and felt at home.

We would gladly have stayed a second night at the 2 places where we stayed only one night, but then you simply need even more time, as Mokuti and Kwando Camp in particular were of course very beautiful. The transfers, border crossings etc. all went smoothly too.

Many heartfelt thanks for your great work, the good organisation, the fitting choice of accommodation and the good communication.
All the best to you and warm greetings from cold and rainy southern Baden Stefanie & Bernd
Dear Ms Petersen,
we are now back home after an intense and lovely trip through part of Namibia. Thank you very much for the wonderful planning – the route you suggested was perfect, all the accommodation excellent – the briefing with Sven was a great introduction and very helpful.
We also felt very well supported by you – many thanks for the help when we had a flat tyre and had to get a new spare. Thanks to your help it was very easy and we were even able to keep to our itinerary (we hadn't expected that at all).
Normally we always travel independently, so we are not used to this kind of service – being able to experience it here was something very special. We had the feeling that if anything should happen, you can be reached quickly. Great!
Conclusion:
What a beautiful country! We are very grateful that we were able to get to know this region and so many warm-hearted people. That will stay with us for a long time!
Thank you for everything – we will recommend you most warmly and are glad to have found a good address to turn to when we hatch further Namibia plans.
Dear Ms Petersen,
it was *FABULOUS*.
YOU did a top job, truly outstanding!
And Sven Schmidt is a gem, look after him well and keep him on side 😉
We mention your name and Elefant-Tours whenever we get the chance.
The route was superb, and apart from the hotel in Keetmanshoop (which was quite decent), all the accommodation was wonderful.
The people were *WOW* and the landscape and wildlife phenomenal.
We travel a lot and love it, but we have rarely been so blown away over an entire trip…
THANK YOU – it was a great pleasure for us!
AND: we will be in touch again. Etosha, Angola and Botswana will follow… 🙂
All the best to you and thank you once again!
Warm regards
Lisa & Severin

We went on an 11-day private safari through Namibia at the beginning of August. Thanks to Ms Joubert we had lovely lodges.

Aron, our guide, was very likeable. Thanks to him we learned a lot about the country and its people.

Without him we also would not have spotted so many animals. It was very pleasant not having to drive the gravel roads ourselves. This meant all 5 of us could enjoy our family holiday.

Heartfelt thanks to Aron!

Dear Ms Petersen, we really enjoyed our tour through Namibia. Everything was so well organised, Gottfried was a fantastic guide. He brought Namibia, its culture and history, the beautiful landscape, the incredible wildlife and the people closer to us.

We had very interesting conversations with him. Gottfried is very well connected and greatly enriched our tour and made it a great experience.

Thank you very much for the organisation, we all liked the lodges very much, we will certainly come back to Namibia.

Kind regards Felicitas Hobje-Schulz

Hello Ms Petersen,
I would like to thank you and the whole team responsible for our Namibia trip extraordinarily. You arranged an indescribable experience for us, which we will be able to tell our grandchildren about.

Within the organised framework (accommodation), our tour guide Gottfried prepared a dream holiday for us from the first second to the last.
All questions and wishes were answered or fulfilled without fuss, however "special" they were.

The country, the people, the culture and of course the animals were presented to us in an incredibly wonderful way.
The accommodation and its management were a dream, we hardly came out of the "WOW".

Only the accommodation in Etosha National Park was somewhat out of the ordinary, but we had been prepared for that to some extent. The "waterhole" there, however, was a great experience. But these moments cannot diminish our joy and happiness with this trip and our tour guide Gottfried.

If you have the opportunity to pass on our special thanks to our tour guide Gottfried once more, we would be very pleased!

We, aged 77 and 78, took a great, if very strenuous, self-drive tour through Namibia in May 2024, with the trip planning by Ms Franke and the advice in Windhoek from Sven of NamibiaExperience.

The lodges chosen were good to very good.

Worth highlighting are Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, Corona Guest Farm, Hohenstein Lodge, Vingerklip Lodge, Mushara Lodge, Waterberg Plateau Lodge and Hotel Schwerinsburg in Windhoek.

And if we could do it again, we would skip Sossusvlei and plan 2-3 days at Halali Camp in Etosha NP for wildlife viewing.

But even so, Namibia was worth the trip!
Our 15-day self-drive Namibia trip was an absolute dream and perfectly prepared and organised by Ms Franke!! We will benefit from this wonderful time for a long while, always happily look back on it and rave about it together!!!
The country, the varied landscapes, the people and the (wild) wildlife are fascinating and unforgettable! Our beautiful days were rounded off by great, clean and perfectly located accommodation.
Thank you once again for this unique time!!
3-week round trip "The Best of Namibia!"
We were very satisfied with the organisation and were able to enjoy an unforgettable family holiday. Many thanks to Ms Joubert and the team. Hopefully see you again soon!!

In July/August 2024 we spent three weeks on the trip "Namibia's Diversity". Even the planning and booking went very well. It was real fun planning everything with Ms Petersen. Heartfelt thanks again for that. The round trip itself was run by Namibia-Experience with the guide Matthias.

From the first day it was a dream trip for us. The group was great, the guide Matthias was top class, the lodges and farms were brilliant and the food in places deserves stars. It was a culinary experience. When it was cold in our room at night, we found a hot-water bottle in the bed. We were simply treated with great care.
Matthias had a wonderful eye for the animal and plant life and could tell us a great deal. Likewise about the culture of the country. Every day brought a new experience and it was always great. Experiencing these wonderful animals so close was a great experience for us.

Matthias was also a superb driver and always brought us safely to the lodges and farm. In places the roads were very bad, but for Matthias this was no problem.
I can only recommend this trip to everyone. I would love to do this trip again straight away. It was simply great.

Namibia travel report 2024: Fascination Namibia
On Saturday I flew to Windhoek with my 13-year-old goddaughter. The flight took a good 10 hours and we landed in Namibia's capital on Sunday morning. There Sam, our guide for the safari, picked us up and took us to the first lodge. In summary I can say that all the lodges were comfortable. Mostly they were individual houses spread village-style around the main building. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean and a small terrace invited you to relax. The food was also outstanding in all the lodges. Meat eaters find a broader range than vegetarians. There were three highlights on our safari: a boat trip from Walvis Bay, near Swakopmund, on which seals climbed onto the boat, pelicans let passengers stroke them and dolphins accompanied us.

The second highlight was the dunes of Sossusvlei. The deep blue sky and the reddish shimmering sand are simply overwhelming. The third highlight for me was Etosha Park. We spent three days there and saw loads of elephants, giraffes, zebras, springbok, jackals, ostriches and much more.
Our guide Sam led us competently through nature, and could point out individual animals to us that I would never have seen with the naked eye. He knew every waterhole in Etosha Park and was well connected with the other tour guides, so that we even saw four lions in total. Along the way he knew the best toilets, although it must not be forgotten that at times we were far from civilisation. Sam gave an informative answer to most questions, so that I increasingly got an impression of the particularities of the state of Namibia. Direct contact was arranged with the Herero and Damara.
I would like to especially emphasise the individual support. I have a slight walking disability and have to wear a breathing mask at night because of sleep apnoea. Only at a lodge in the mountains was there a brief power cut. Sam made sure I had the shortest way to the main house, he motivated me to go to my limits so that I would not miss unique insights into the surroundings, but also accepted when I felt overwhelmed. As we generally had to provide our own lunch, we visited a supermarket about every three days to stock up on water and food. The most strenuous part for me was the long car journeys from lodge to lodge, which were often supplemented by afternoon game drives. We had deliberately chosen an English-speaking tour guide and did not regret it. The group consisted of three Americans, one Briton, the two of us Germans and the Namibian guide. The group got on well. This is a summary of the 12 days and reflects only a part of the unforgettable experiences.
Ingrid Lohmann

We enjoyed 16 wonderful days through Namibia and Botswana to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, saw impressive landscapes and many animals. Every evening we looked forward to what great lodge was waiting for us. The lodges were mostly smaller and more personal, which we liked very much. We were surprised by the great menus at white-clothed tables by the fireplace or with a view of nocturnal visitors at the waterhole. At some lodges we would have loved to stay longer, e.g. Mushara Bush Camp or Malansrus Tented Camp! What a trip!

We were of course very lucky to be only 2 couples + our guide Victor, which meant he could take personal wishes into account and we had generous space in the jeep. We think this type of vehicle is very good in general, very robust, lots of space!

Thank you very much for the perfect planning, starting with Benjamin, who gave us an informative introduction! Our special thanks go to our guide Victor from Namibia-Experience, who accompanied us on this special trip and drove with great experience. Even through a sandstorm! We learned a lot about the country and its people, about plants and animals, and you can tell that he loves this country!
Conclusion: a great group with a super guide on a unique trip!
We will definitely recommend Elefant-Tours!
Best wishes
Dear Ms von Zelewski,
we are sitting in Voigtland Guest House right now and are unfortunately at the end of our Namibia trip. We had a fantastic two and a half weeks. All the accommodation was very good, much of it fantastic. Your planning was perfect.
So heartfelt thanks to you on behalf of the whole Brüggestrat family. Your advice is outstanding. Your patience with all my questions and the competent answers also impressed me greatly.
The world is too big to travel straight back to Namibia next year. But when we come back, it will most certainly be with your support.
Dear Ms Petersen.
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your wonderful travel advice.
Even during the preparation for the Namibia trip we felt we were advised very competently and with real commitment.
You captured our individual needs excellently and put them into practice.
I am fascinated by how precisely fitting your selection was, even though we only knew each other from phone calls.
We would never have expected to stay in such wonderful places.
The first 2 days in Windhoek and the self-drive briefing were a relaxed start. We felt very comfortable at Villa Violet.
Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch Campsite impressed us enormously and exceeded our expectations.
At Little Sossus Campsite we enjoyed the relaxed and personal atmosphere. Here too, nothing was lacking.
Because of the humidity we were very glad of the holiday apartment "Atlantik Sicht" in Swakopmund.
Spitzkoppe Campsite enchanted us all. What an impressive place. We were really able to enjoy the vastness and the incredibly beautiful nature thanks to the peace and solitude at the pitch. The somewhat more basic infrastructure did not bother us at all.
We used our time at the Brandberg to relax by the pool and for an excursion to the desert elephants.
Vingerklip Lodge also surprised us enormously. We are very grateful for the many varied landscapes but also for the many different types of accommodation.
Everywhere we met very friendly staff. The evening at Eagle Nest was also a highlight.
With Etosha Trading Post we got to know another, completely different place. At night we heard the lions… incredible 😊
The proximity to Etosha suited us very well, as we drove a lot within the park.
Onguma Leadwood Campsite… we could have stayed here forever. A beautiful site, great activities but also time to relax, process the impressions and simply enjoy.
We also felt at home at Waterberg Guest Farm, but the "farewell pain" at leaving the rooftop tent was noticeable in all 4 of us.
It is also a lovely, authentic place.
Spending the last night in Windhoek was a good decision.
We can say nothing negative about Elegant Guesthouse, but compared with Villa Violet, Villa Violet stands out for us with its very personal and loving touch.
All the transfers you organised worked fabulously.
The way the travel documents were presented was very clear and helpful for us.
My husband jumped for joy the day after arrival when the drone licence arrived by email. At this point, thank you for the contact you arranged for us.
Our conclusion: we will be back.
Next time with Elefant-Tours again, too.
Many thanks from all of us.
It was an unforgettably beautiful experience,
Kira and Lilly, Enrico and Caterina Schliebe
We had booked our two-week small-group tour through Namibia with Elefant-Tours. There we were advised very well beforehand. Our concerns were addressed and questions answered promptly.
The trip was run by Namibia-Experience. To begin with, apart from a flat tyre and an engine that wouldn't start for a while, everything went superbly.
Namibia is a beautiful country and we would absolutely recommend this trip.
We were lucky with our travel group, which got on wonderfully. We were also very lucky with our guide, Jürgen Schatz. As a local he passed on a lot of knowledge about the country, people and nature, and added personal, mostly funny episodes from his everyday life. Jürgen enriched the trip with his commitment and his humour and we felt safe and well looked after at all times.
Thank you to everyone who made this trip unforgettable!
Sabine and Nadine.
Hello Ms von Zelewski
We have already been back from Namibia for a few days.
It was a really lovely trip, the landscape, the surroundings, so many different impressions, it was really great.
The accommodation you booked was also very good, we liked the smaller lodges very much, just as we had discussed.
Namtib Desert Lodge was special, we were lucky to be there alone that night and had a very lovely evening with Thorsten and Lynn, but all the other lodges were super lovely too: the two nights at Vreugde Farm with Elzie were warm, Elzie gave us a precise explanation of which animals we could see at which waterholes in Etosha Park, it was unique!
We would like to thank you once more for your planning and will recommend you, we liked everything very much, a pity that the meeting in Swakopmund didn't work out.
We hope you are well, warm regards from Münsterland…
Ulrike and Fred

While looking for an unforgettable trip to Africa, we came across the provider Elefant Tours. First we made a non-binding enquiry to get an overview. After only a short time we received a call to discuss our ideas for the trip further and find a suitable route. After a few days and small change requests to the first offer, the final offer was in front of us and already put us in a mood of first anticipation for our trip.

The booking process went smoothly, and we were also informed regularly about the status of processing. Before the trip we received plenty of information about travelling as a self-driver, which proved important during the trip. We could also view the itinerary via a mobile app, in which every day, every lodge and all recommendations for the trip were neatly and clearly presented.

After landing in Windhoek we collected the rental car and set off for the first lodge. Check-in was straightforward and we could recover from the journey.
Our trip first took us further south, via Bagatelle to the Fish River Canyon. The lodge at the Fish River Canyon was a highlight of the trip, the view from the pool into the canyon is priceless. Our next destination took us into the Namibian desert, a big contrast to the trip so far. The view over the dunes is priceless, but also very hot.

After a few days and several lodges in the desert, we drove on to Swakopmund, a lovely coastal town with a milder climate. The town is quiet and strongly shaped by German influences, and invites you to stroll.
Another highlight of the trip followed next, the drive to Etosha National Park. We explored the park for four days as self-drivers and drove out again each day with new impressions. The wildlife is impressive, new animals can be seen around every corner.

After our stay at Etosha National Park in various lodges, our trip ended after a stop at the Waterberg, after 19 days, back in Windhoek.

Throughout the entire trip we were hardly ever out of amazement. Everywhere we could watch animals, see incredible landscapes and take lovely excursions. We followed the recommendations we received at the start of the trip for the most part and were not disappointed. These include sunset drives, a drive through the canyon followed by a swim in the canyon, a boat tour to the seal colony and the pelicans, or self-drive trips to rock paintings or the world's largest meteorite.

We would do the trip again at any time and can draw on the impressions for a long time to come.

We have now slowly arrived back home, but the beautiful impressions of this trip will stay with us always.

The route and the accommodation you chose were great.

At every accommodation, the best room or tent was booked. Thank you for that. Really great.

Your super-quick rebooking after we no longer wanted to camp following the thunderstorm also worked superbly. With your dedication you gave us a wonderful holiday experience.

we are back safely in Austria and gained many unforgettable impressions on this trip.
Thank you very much for the planning, organisation, your patience and the service!
We have never had a travel agency with this quality of service and such extensive sources of information (app, advance planning, tips).

From the start we felt in the best hands and well advised with you – and this was confirmed on site too. The lodges and the campsites were flawless (except Okaukuejo, but we expected that).

The rain spared us – only at the airport on the flight home did the first proper thunderstorm catch us 🙂
The roads were also better than expected, and thanks to Sven's tips on the route we were able to avoid the worse tracks.

The route change via Savuti and Khwai definitely paid off – that section (despite the deep-sand track) was one of our absolute highlights!

The trip was well planned by Larissa Walter. I would have a trip planned by Elefant-Tours again at any time – thank you.

The self-drive briefing by Sven Schmidt in Windhoek was super good and very much needed – thank you here too.
We would like to thank you most warmly!!!
We had a wonderful trip through Namibia and every day was something very special!
Many thanks also for the choice of accommodation! We particularly liked Elegant Desert Camp, Melansrus Camp and Otjohozu Farm… small, a little luxury and individual.
At Mushara Lodge we had by far the best dinner.
Only Etosha Safari Lodge was far too big for us.
We had really great experiences, met nice people and are sure this was not the last time in Namibia or in the neighbouring countries.

I had also been meaning to write you an email and tell you how wonderful the holiday was: everything worked really well and above all was brilliantly organised!

It couldn't have been better, and especially for our needs you really found the perfect combination of action, relaxation, pure nature or even the occasional more luxurious campsite.

Thank you very much for your help and the great organisation.

Thanks to Elefant-Tours and especially to Ms Petersen for organising our 13-day Namibia trip. Ms Petersen answered all our questions, gave us many tips about the country and its people and accommodated our special requests.

The four of us had a fantastic time in Namibia on our self-drive tour. The lodges were each unique and first-class.

The car (Toyota Fortuner) was very spacious and ideal for this trip.
Everything worked perfectly!

We will certainly make our next Africa trip with Elefant-Tours again.

Planning the trip:
It was fun adapting the stops from the Elefant building-block system to our personal wishes. The travel agency contacts were very easy to reach, and responses to enquiries by email or WhatsApp were always prompt.
Rental car:
You were right: for this round trip we would not have needed four-wheel drive. What matters is enough ground clearance, a Toyota RAV4 is sufficient. Anyone who absolutely wants to drive the last 5 km beyond the 2WD car park at Sossusvlei themselves needs not only a "proper" 4x4 but also enough experience not to get stuck there (professional help with digging out costs 1000 N$).

Elegant Guesthouse
Friendly staff, room OK, nicely quiet air conditioning.
A pity that you shouldn't move around the town freely on foot after 19:00.
Elegant Desert Camp
The view from the bungalow across the plain is breathtaking, the bar and the pool are also nicely located. Meals are served in the main house approx. 7 km from the bungalows. A transfer is offered, but it did not work reliably.

Cornerstone Guesthouse
Lovely well-kept garden with lots of birds. The excursion to the Little Five arranged by the lodge was great.
Ai Aiba Painting Lodge
Good lodge in a lovely setting. Both excursions were good, nice guides.
Okaukuejo Resort
Was exactly as you described it: not as chic as other privately run lodges, but fit for purpose. The advice to always travel with a full tank was right: in the afternoon the petrol at the lodge was sold out.
Mushara Lodge
Very lovely property. It was a mix of botanical garden and zoo. A pity we were only there for one night.

Waterberg Guest Farm
In our bungalow (No. 2) the toilet was not directly accessible from the interior but via the rear outside door, which was unpleasant at night because of the many insects. Dinner was served in a plain room at one large table. This team-building measure was opted out of by most guests. The excursion to the cheetah station was very nice.
Conclusion:
Namibia is a beautiful country with impressive landscapes and wildlife. The trip largely matched the Elefant-Tours description. The long distances and in places poor road conditions meant that you mostly sat in the car longer than planned.

My self-drive trip through Namibia, planned and looked after by Britta Franke, was quite simply fantastic. Britta showed impressive competence and took my personal wishes on board very attentively.

The breathtaking nature, fascinating colours, the multifaceted wildlife and the friendly people made the trip an unforgettable experience. Britta allowed enough time for everything, neither too much nor too little.
The carefully selected accommodation was all of outstanding quality. It is hard for me to say which was best, as each had its own charm. The culinary experience exceeded all expectations and was not just good but downright first-class.
The trip was perfectly organised down to the smallest detail, so that I could enjoy Namibia to the full. My unreserved recommendation goes to Britta Franke and her first-class services. Heartfelt thanks for this unforgettable adventure!

The tailor-made 14-day Namibia round trip in a safari truck from lodge to lodge met everyone's expectations.

The advice and planning by Britta Franke were perfect. Special experiences of the animal and plant life made for an unforgettable holiday. Whether it was the petrified forest, wonderful rock engravings or the Little Five tour in Swakopmund with guide Jürgen, it was glorious.

Not to mention the game drives, the boat tour into the sunset and the culinary dinners, everything had its charm.

Thank you very much for the super organisation, it was lovely and we would gladly do it again soon.

Hello Ms Joubert,
the trip was simply super, whether it was the accommodation or the car, it was absolutely great.

I would also like to thank you for your patience and good advice. The only thing we no longer quite remembered was that we flew from Victoria Falls first to Cape Town and then to Frankfurt. That wasn't a problem, but a little unusual.

Many thanks for everything, and I think Africa will stay with us in our next holiday plans.

All the best to you.
Kind regards
Elke Prytula
We were thrilled with our guide Aaron; he impressed with enormous knowledge of the country and its people, the political background, the particularities of the various tribes and their history and life, historical background, the fauna and flora, led us to places that were unique, and he was always friendly, obliging and accommodated all our wishes.
His cheerful and humorous manner made our trip a special experience. He had a feel for where and when the best wildlife viewing was to be had and gave us unique experiences. Great praise and great thanks to Aaron. All in all a wonderful round trip on which we were able to get to know the unique country of Namibia, the wonderful landscapes, the people, nature and animals.
Thanks to our guide Aaron, the trip became a unique experience.

A fantastic holiday, with glorious landscapes, great experiences, a little adventure on the lonely roads, only friendly, cheerful people, never a feeling of insecurity, food
as we were used to from our earlier trips. Everything simply excellent. Many, many thanks for the great working-out of the trip and the really impeccably prepared documents; the Travel Key app with the trip that can be used offline also deserves a mention and praise.

If we travel to Africa again, which is as good as certain, we will definitely get in touch with Elefant-Tours and you, dear Bernhard. Great that the meeting at Table Mountain still worked out, we were really pleased.
We were advised excellently by Ms von Zelewski! All our questions were answered and Ms von Zelewski made sure everything ran smoothly. Because of a flight delay, the first nights had to be rebooked. Here too we could rely 100% on Ms von Zelewski. Within no time everything was rebooked. Thank you for everything!
We chose a great route with lovely accommodation and gained many impressive experiences as well. We were thrilled with the accommodation! Very beautifully located, very clean, delicious food and friendly staff.
It was a very lovely, impressive trip to a wonderful country with a very nice travel group and our fantastic guide Obi, bubbling over with knowledge about his homeland! We always had fun!
We felt very well looked after, starting with the nice contact with Ms Walter through to the detailed information, above all the TravelKey app! We would always choose this way of travelling. The wealth of expert information (wildlife, birds, plants…) and stories about Namibia from Obi is not something you get on a self-drive tour. Nobody drives, everyone can take photos, which was especially important to us. The converted Toyota 4x4 (with USB port and solar-powered cool box) was also brilliant. You sit higher and can still open the roof, great for wildlife viewing.

Both the advice beforehand and the organisation on your side were excellent; we felt very well looked after at every point in the run-up. The trip itself was a wonderful experience for us. The route, the sights and also the lodges were excellently chosen. Many of the lodges were in truly outstanding places in unique surroundings.

I absolutely must mention our tour guide Steve, who looked after the quite heterogeneous group of seven travellers superbly, always keeping everyone's concerns in view. He is an excellent connoisseur of the country, its people, nature and wildlife and passes this knowledge on passionately. With his personality he made a very large contribution to this trip becoming such an unforgettable experience for us.

This is already the third time we have travelled to Africa with Elefant-Tours.
The planning and support from Elefant-Tours is unique. The trip is put together individually, the contacts are exceptionally well informed and stand by you with advice and practical help. If you want a tailor-made holiday that is not assembled from a building-block system but put together according to your wishes, you are in the right place here.

This time we spent two weeks travelling by car in Namibia in September.

The accommodation was all very good, and the trip description and tips accompanied/guided us superbly.
Thank you for the lovely time

Dear Ms von Zelewski,
thanks to your perfect organisation and the wonderful selection of lodges, we had an unforgettable trip.

We greatly enjoyed the different lodges. The selection was perfect for our wishes. Sometimes luxurious, sometimes simpler, but always so that we felt at ease.

Every day there was a new highlight along the route. Sven had prepared us perfectly with his introduction. We didn't need his tips on changing a tyre, but felt capable of coping with anything. And whenever we thought we weren't sure, you had already planned for it. When we arrived at the airport in Maun and wondered what to do with our luggage, the nice gentleman you had arranged was already waiting, had all the boarding passes and led us to the right counter. Needless to say, the luggage return two days later also went smoothly.

Thank you for the great trip. We are already busily recommending you in all directions. When we head off to southern Africa again, we will certainly get in touch.

We had 3 fantastic weeks in Namibia with many wonderful experiences and impressions that we hope to remember for a very long time.

Everything really worked superbly, both with the car rental and on tour and at the accommodation.
The briefing with Sven in Windhoek was very pleasant and above all informative! He provided us perfectly with tips, tour details and advice and arranged the booking of further activities in Swakopmund. A meeting with Sven on site in Windhoek is absolutely recommended and helpful!

Should we plan another holiday in Africa, we will gladly come back to you and Elefant-Tours.
Fascination Namibia – that was the trip we booked. And that is exactly what we experienced. 12 days, end of July 2023. A great trip in every respect. The booking through Elefant-Tours was perfectly handled, special requests and detailed questions were always answered superbly. The organiser was Namibia-Experience. Right on arrival at the airport in Windhoek, our guide, Randy J Körner, welcomed us warmly and explained the important things then: toilets, currency exchange etc.
Here we got to know our fellow travellers. We were 7 people plus guide in the vehicle, which was a perfect mix for this trip. We got on well from the start. The trip delighted us in every aspect: the lodges were superbly chosen, always super lovely, and the included meals were almost always perfect! The people at the lodges were consistently obliging; if the night was going to get too cold, they even brought us hot-water bottles! Nights in July in Africa can actually get really cold!
We saw – not only in Etosha – an incredible number of animals; Randy headed for the right places for us with great patience and local knowledge.
On the very first evening we were at Joe's Beerhouse and Randy was able to give us first information about the trip and the country. The evening briefings about the next day of travel were very pleasant for us.
On a "sundowner" drive at Bagatelle we saw giraffes at close range and other large animals straight away, which was grand for the start of the trip!
We would never do this trip as self-drivers. The sometimes quite long stretches over gravel roads are a little tiring. And where you can discover exciting animals and things, I certainly don't want to have to watch out for potholes as well. We were really impressed by the calm and safety with which Randy drove us around the area. That requires a lot of attention, which a guide provides professionally. A very funny situation in between made our driver stop spontaneously: a strange clacking made us fear a problem with the car – it was only a fellow traveller tapping on a drinks can "to calm the carbonation" 🙂 When we were then chilling at the lodges a little exhausted in the late afternoon, Randy would still clean the dust off the car or organise our extra requests. Great! It was too cold at this time of year to use the many well-kept pools at the lodges.
We were able to ask our many "silly" questions over the course of the trip, and Randy always knew an answer. We would never have seen or learned a lot of it as self-drivers. Thank you, Randy, for sharing your enthusiasm for the country with us! We always felt well looked after.
Highlights for us: the animals! And: Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch – Sossusvlei – Otjohotozu Guest Farm – The Tug in Swakopmund – Damara Living Museum – Farmhouse Boutique Guesthouse Outjo – Mushara Lodge and the menu on the last evening at Immanuel Wilderness Lodge

We booked a family trip through the German agency Elefant-Tours; Elefant-Tours was represented by Larissa Walter, dedicated and helpful. Because of the flight prices, unfortunately no other family booked the trip.

But we had a great time together with our guide Aron, who was caring, very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. He got on very well with our daughter, who was sometimes bored by the long driving distances and a bit sad because there were no other children along.

What impressed us most was his almost fluent German, which he taught himself.

We can recommend the local operator and Aron as a super guide to anyone thinking about visiting Namibia – not only with children.

Our two-week round trip was brilliantly organised by Verena Brode. Thank you for that!
With four family members we went from Windhoek to Okonjima Nature Reserve, where we were able to watch leopards for the first time. Our journey continued via Grootfontein, the Divundu region, the Okavango River and Kwando River to Kasane. We entered Zimbabwe and visited Victoria Falls. We also enjoyed a helicopter flight there. After this highlight we continued to Gweta and early in the morning to a meerkat colony. From there, via Maun, we relaxed for the last three nights in the Khwai Community Area.

We were guided by "Esmes", who speaks good German. He is professional and gave us a lot of information about the wildlife and landscapes. And he is a superb driver.
About our camps and lodges the following can be said: the better and more expensive ones were simply lovely and we felt very comfortable there. But the rustic ones too can be described as good; only the accommodation at Planet Baobab Lodge is very much in need of renovation.

Our trip was brilliantly organised and the execution, thanks to Esmes, who was always in contact with Namibia Experience, was very good without any problems or difficulties.

A note for older travellers (over 60, 70 or even over 80): a guided tour with fixed accommodation and good sanitary facilities is a great option, especially for older people who also don't speak the language so well, for such a magnificent round trip, which was worked out according to our wishes. Everything was organised for us, including the border crossings into Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls and the various means of transport. We could concentrate on the most beautiful landscapes and wildlife viewing.

Dear Ms Walter,
a wonderful trip is drawing to a close and we are heading back with many lovely memories and experiences.
Our guide Jonge/Jürgen and our fellow travellers were great.
Everything worked excellently and went smoothly, thanks to your preparation!

It will certainly not be the last trip to this region 😉
Warmest regards
Nicole and Marc

Our second big adventure in southern Africa was a combination of “The Best of Namibia” and “Namibia Highlights”, 19 days, in March 2023.
As with our first self-drive tour “Northern South Africa” in September 2016, we were once again thoroughly delighted by the perfect planning, organisation and booking (flights, accommodation, rental car) of the trip by Elefant-Tours.

The suggested route, the length of the daily stages, the beautiful lodges and guesthouses with their culinary specialities, the suggestions for excursions and the sights impressed us anew every single day.
Our route:
Windhoek, Kalahari, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Erongo Mountains, Twyfelfontein, Etosha NP, Waterberg Plateau, Windhoek.

The unique and incredibly varied landscape, the endless expanse and silence of Namibia, the fascinating sand dunes and rock formations, the vastness of the desert landscapes and the sea, the wildlife viewing and the emptiness of the land, … captivated us again and again during our wonderful trip, as did the incredible friendliness of the people.
Our highlights were without doubt the cheetah feeding, Deadvlei and Sossusvlei, the wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park and the rhinos at the Waterberg Plateau, to name just a few.

A truly special experience, though, was the balloon flight over Sossusvlei.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Elefant-Tours, and in particular to Verena Brode, who was always an outstanding contact, with great dedication.
Namibia will always stay in our memories!
A dream!
Christine and Ulli
In November 2022 I did an overland tour from Victoria Falls via Swakopmund to Windhoek. I can warmly recommend it to anyone who can do without a little comfort.
I was warmly welcomed right at the airport in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Our guide Chris and the interpreter Evans, who joined us in Zambia, made the tour an unforgettable experience. The two of them always had everything organised under control, were always good for a pleasant surprise, such as strawberries in the Namib Desert, and had infected the travel group with their “Hakuna matata” by the second day. Beyond that, alongside the scenic beauty of Namibia, they shared a lot of interesting knowledge about its human and animal inhabitants. If you keep your eyes and ears open, you can experience new wonders here every day: herds of elephants at the waterholes of the Etosha Pan, ancient rock engravings in the Tsisab Gorge, enchanting and colourful sunrises at Spitzkoppe, seal colonies at Cape Cross, Black Forest gateau at Café Anton in Swakopmund, breathtaking views from the highest sand dunes in the world and much more.
A trip to the former German South West Africa, one of the most varied and contrast-rich countries in Africa, is definitely worthwhile and will be remembered forever.
I would like to thank the entire Elefant-Tours team most sincerely for the success of the trip. Thanks to the good care, planning and organisation ahead of my trip, it went exactly as I had expected.
I can recommend Elefant-Tours as a competent partner to anyone who wants to travel southern and eastern Africa for the first time or again.
Best wishes from Saarland
Markus Leser

After postponing our Africa trip twice because of Covid, it worked out this year: 16 days in Namibia from Windhoek to Victoria Falls (27 August – 12 September 2022) as a mini-group tour, and it was worth it. The trip was wonderful.

Our guide Moppi Tietz from Namibia-Experience looked after us superbly and through him we learned a great deal about the uniquely beautiful country of Namibia. The accommodation was very well chosen, with good food, and at one place that only offered breakfast, our guide prepared an excellent dinner on the grill for us.
Many thanks to the team at Elefant-Tours and Namibia-Experience.
Christine and Michael Gaus

From 24 September to 18 October 2022 we travelled through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe as self-drivers. We remember the trip very fondly, as everything went perfectly.

Car rental, directions, lodges, camps and transfers were all excellent.

The route suited us well. On the safaris we always had very friendly and helpful companions.

Thank you for the great organisation

We booked our Namibia self-drive tour with Elefant-Tours. Even the first contact was very friendly and personal. After a short time Mr Wiebe had understood exactly what is important to us on a trip. The corresponding route suggestion including accommodation convinced us straight away.

Between booking and travel we were able to clarify all our questions fully and make minor adjustments without any problems. In addition, Mr Wiebe arranged a self-drive briefing on site for us, which gave us a good start and a good feeling.

The accommodation was beautiful throughout and each place was a highlight in its own right. We are thoroughly delighted and can recommend Mr Wiebe and Elefant-Tours without reservation.

Thank you so much for an unforgettable honeymoon!

Dear Elefant-Tours team,
thank you very much for your support in planning our self-drive tour.

Our time in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe was simply dreamlike. The wildlife sightings, the friendly people, the nature and the sunsets. We were also very impressed by the food.

Every one of the accommodations was a highlight in itself. The briefing from Sven in Windhoek was also worth its weight in gold.

See you again soon!
The trip was a dream. The country is pure adventure and the scenery is incredibly varied. Ms Brode took care of everything with great competence and dedication. And all of that in a very short time before the departure date. Thank you very much once again for that.
It was 5,050 km and the tour was breathtakingly beautiful. Deserts, Fish River Canyon, the sea, mountains, endless expanses and Etosha NP. Highlights also included Waterberg and Fingerclip. We have never stayed anywhere so beautiful. Whether in guesthouses, lodges or camps, we actually didn’t want to check out of any of them. 😉 We had to switch to Fest Inn Fels Lodge in the Tiras Mountains. That was more than just a replacement. The evening with Roland, who is the owner, was lovely. I would be delighted if this lodge, which is truly dreamily located and beautiful, were added to the programme as a standard stop.
As a car rental company we can recommend Warthog. Our car, the Toyota Hilux 4×4, was simply top. Some of the staff speak German and also looked after us very well during the trip. You can rely on them around the clock. We will definitely go on another voyage of discovery with Elefant-Tours.

We are back from our trip to Namibia.
With the additional great briefing from Sven, it was a wonderful trip that we will never forget. Sven gave us valuable tips and was reachable for us at any time during the trip.
The lodges chosen were very beautiful.

We felt very comfortable everywhere. You hit our taste exactly.
Everything worked out perfectly.

The only change next time would be that we would book a bigger car. The roads to the remote lodges were in places very bad and we almost got stuck twice.
In any case, we thank you for the great organisation.

We will certainly book our next Africa trip with you again.

Our trip with Elefant-Tours / Namibia-Experience was, as always, an experience we will never forget. We can’t say exactly what we liked best. Once again it was superbly organised from start to finish. Camping was definitely a highlight, as we camped for the first time. Another big compliment goes to Sven, who really gave his all to make our tour something very special.

The best thing we have to say about Covid is that in the beautiful solitude of Namibia’s remote paths, for the duration of the holiday we didn’t notice so much of it.
Our tip for all travellers is to book such a fantastic trip too, to slow down, to reflect in Namibia’s nature and to learn to appreciate the simple things in life again.

We can say for ourselves: “You can leave Africa, but Africa will never leave you”

Many thanks again for everything, we will be back.

We are in Africa very often. This was our third time in Namibia, this time travelling only in the south (Windhoek, Mariental, Keetmanshoop, Fish River Canyon, Lüderitz, Namib-Naukluft).
Perfectly organised by Elefant Tours: itinerary, tour manual, accommodation.

Hygiene measures everywhere, you feel safe in this other world.
Expectations of the country and its people are met and exceeded.

The vastness and silence of the various desert landscapes are fascinating, as are the flora and fauna found only here.

Heartfelt thanks to Elefant-Tours. An ode to Ms Brode.

Three generations (aged between 9 and 73) during Covid, 5 Namibia newcomers and 2 experienced “old hands”, of whom two people had dietary restrictions for health reasons – that was a real challenge, BUT… we had an absolute dream trip on which EVERYONE got their money’s worth.

We spent 14 days travelling through Namibia as self-drivers with 2 Toyota Fortuner 4 x 4s. The distances were perfectly matched to our needs and the choice of lodges was great. A successful mix of relaxation and getting to know the country and its special features. The “adventure” for the young people never fell short either. After climbing a dune we were rewarded with breakfast in the dunes, we kayaked right through fur seals, took a quad bike on a historical tour through the Namib at Walvis Bay, and went on several game drives. A particular highlight was the game drive looking for the desert elephants in the Brandberg, and also our drive with a guide at Mount Etjo Lodge.
We had an exceptional stay at Vingerklip Lodge, where we were spoiled at Heavens Gate and Eagles Nest high up on the rocks with a fantastic view, great rooms and really good food.

Our wildlife tally was great, and we were also able to share the joy of the first rain in a long time with the local people.

For all wildlife enthusiasts we can also recommend the Etosha app, which answers all questions as quickly as possible and also creates a lovely memory with its sightings diary.
We now know quite a few countries on the African continent, including such rarely visited ones as Sudan, Eritrea or Angola. And I have to admit that before our flight to Windhoek we had a few concerns that Namibia might be a little boring for us.
But that was not the case at all, quite the opposite. The trip was a great experience for us and we really enjoyed our stay. Namibia is a great country. The people are extremely friendly. We had the opportunity to learn a few things about the different tribes that live there. What is particularly impressive is in fact the magnificent landscapes, of which Namibia has plenty to offer.
Now specifically on the points you raised:
– the biggest highlight of the trip? That is very hard to answer, because there was not just one highlight. There were several. They included Fish River Lodge and Grootberg Lodge with their unique locations, Deadvlei and of course Etosha National Park. We particularly liked Omarunga Camp at the Epupa Falls. We simply enjoyed sitting on the terrace of our tent and looking out over the Kunene River. It was wonderfully relaxing. Our far too short stay with Thorsten and Lynn at Namtib Desert Lodge was also great. We felt very much at home there. We especially liked eating together at the big table.
– a personal tip for future travellers: Etosha and Sossusvlei are really worth seeing, that is undisputed. But I would recommend everyone to also take some time for the less-visited regions.
– what we particularly liked about Elefant-Tours: Only afterwards did it become clear to us that the setting of the individual daily stages was really almost perfect. We drove about 5,000 kilometres in the 3½ weeks, which was quite a workload. Every daily stage was easily doable time-wise. There were only a few days on which we arrived at the lodge relatively late.
We also particularly liked the choice of the various lodges and guesthouses. It was a really successful mix, exactly as we had wished. Almost all the hotels were truly outstanding and stood out for a special location and really great service. Okaukuejo Camp, however, has to be excepted. The resort is simply huge and therefore also impersonal. The service is not comparable with privately run lodges. But our stay there was fine, above all the location was good for our route.
After our arrival we had also taken up the briefing by Sven. It was very interesting and extremely helpful. He went to incredible trouble and created a very detailed map for our trip. We received many good tips from him.
– Travelling during Covid: To say it up front, we really chose the absolutely perfect time for a trip to Namibia, so soon after the reopening, i.e. after the downgrading from a high-incidence area. There were almost only independent travellers out and about. Some of them we kept seeing every now and then. We hardly met any tour groups, which we found very pleasant. Sometimes we were on the roads for hours without meeting a single car. We were often the only guests at the lodges. The managers and staff had a lot of time, even for a nice chat. Everyone was very happy that more visitors were slowly coming again. Many people had a very hard time during the Covid pandemic and could not earn any money.
In conclusion I can say that we had a wonderful time in Namibia, thanks also to your very good planning. We were thrilled.

Dream trip through Namibia
Thanks to excellent preparation by Ms Heitzmann of Elefant-Tours and great support from our contact on the ground, with tips on activities and bookings, we had a unique holiday.

Our 15-day drive along the “tourist route” took us to the top sights, and the distances and stage durations were well calculated. If you have the chance, you should also plan a few relaxing days at one of the beautiful lodges: driving mostly on sandy roads requires a lot of concentration! To name a single highlight of our trip would not do justice to the other experiences, but the flight over the Namib from Swakopmund was spectacular.

We are glad to have made the trip despite Covid. We felt safe at all times. The hygiene measures were well implemented everywhere, and the staff at lodges, restaurants and parks wore masks. This was not our last time in Africa!

The first time but certainly not the last
On my 13-day self-drive tour I drove to many highlights in order to get my bearings for a new 2022 “survival tour”, and experienced quite a lot.
Driving alone through the big-city jungle of Windhoek to the guesthouse, on the left-hand side of the road and without a satnav, was already a real challenge.

On the 2nd day I received from Sven Schmidt, operations manager of Elefant-Tours in Windhoek, a personally prepared route plan with valuable tips and tricks. I suspect he knows everybody there.
In total I drove just under 3,000 kilometres and felt welcome everywhere.

As a solo traveller I never had a moment of unease and found Namibia very hospitable, the people always helpful.
My highlights were Sossusvlei, Etosha, the Erongo Mountains and the Bushman Walk with the indigenous people of Namibia, the San. I would like to recommend the AfriCat Foundation in Otjiwarongo. Here you can watch cheetahs and leopards very well.

Because of the heavy rainfall in January and February, you could actually swim wonderfully in Sossusvlei. A very special experience, as it is only rarely that so much rain falls that water collects there.
I would like to thank Lisa Heitzmann in particular for her support in booking a Covid test for departure. Perfect service, which goes beyond the usual activities of a travel agency. For problems and challenges of any kind, I would have received help from Elefant-Tours at any time. A heartfelt thank-you for the wonderful Namibia break.

From 14.4. to 14.5.2021 we travelled in Namibia as self-drivers (Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4 from Savanna-Car). In total we visited 11 lodges and also stayed at 2 guesthouses. When we visited Sven Schmidt, operations manager of Elefant-Tours, we heard about an upgrade as well as further tips for our trip. Superb care. After 3 days in Windhoek we set off eastwards to the Harnas Wildlife Foundation.

That was a brilliant start to the rest of the trip. Mongooses, wild dogs, leopards, lions and baboons are cared for here. Then south to near Mariental (Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch). A visit to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park had also been planned. Because of Covid-19 this was unfortunately not possible, so we limited ourselves to the very good game drives offered by Kalahari Game Lodge. Further west via Keetmanshoop to Namtib Desert Lodge, then on to Little Kulala Lodge (Sossusvlei). A visit to the dune landscape there goes without saying.

Via Walvis Bay and Swakopmund to Cape Cross (a very large seal colony). Then via Damaraland into Kaokoland, via Grootberg Lodge to Khowarib Lodge (a drive into the Khowarib Gorge and a visit to a Himba village). Now Etosha National Park lay ahead of us. We entered the national park via Galton Gate and left it via Andersson Gate for Etosha Heights Safarihoek Lodge. On this drive we were able to watch animals and birds at the most varied waterholes.

We spent the last 4 nights at Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp. Here, with our guide, we were able to watch elephants at the waterhole from close up. After eventful days it was unfortunately back to Windhoek already.
One more thing about comfort during the trip:
Be sure to go on the game drives with sundowner afterwards that are offered at most lodges. It is a special experience.
Conclusion:
The advice from Elefant-Tours (Ms Sonja Harter) was very good. We were able to contribute our wishes, which she then incorporated when putting the trip together. The price/performance ratio was right. At the lodges and guesthouses we were welcomed and looked after extremely warmly by the staff everywhere. On all guided excursions and game drives we had very well-trained guides.

We are already quite experienced in Africa, and after more than a year of “travel ban” we decided to use our remaining leave from 2020 to travel to Namibia a 2nd time. We had been lucky enough to see the little-known north on an earlier trip, so we had Sven, the operations manager of Elefant-Tours’ local agency, put together a varied tour into the lesser-known Namibia.
Before the tour Sven prepared a vehicle for the special requirements of the tour. We set off on Monday morning at the airport, from where we drove directly to Sesriem. Dead Valley Lodge, superbly located, was the starting point for excursions into the canyon, to Sossusvlei, which was still under water, and to Deadvlei. We were almost completely alone here, and at the lodge we were looked after most attentively.

We continued north to Spitzkoppe and on to the Brandberg. Here too we were almost completely alone at the camps.
Via Palmwag we went to Warmquelle and then on through the dry river valleys of the Hoanib and Hoarusib as far as Purros. Along the way we met the famous desert elephants, giraffes and many other large and small animals. We stayed partly at beautiful campsites and partly in the wild.

Via Opuwo we went to Epupa, to the falls of the same name. We also visited a traditional Himba kraal with Maria. Sven has known the family for a long time, so we learned a great deal about the life of the Himba here.

We spent a few relaxed hours at Kunene River Lodge before heading south again. At Otjitotongwe Cheetah Guest Farm we learned that a leopard had killed 3 of the wild cheetahs. At Waterberg Guest Farm we went on one more hike up the little Waterberg before returning to Windhoek.
Big praise to Sven, who has now introduced us to his adopted home for the 2nd time. He has lived there with his Namibian wife since 2008 and knows the country like no other guide. He visibly enjoyed the drives off the roads and tracks, as well as the cooking over the fire every evening.
The Covid test required for departure was also organised on site, and the carrying out of the test and notification of the results are very professional. Another compliment to the Elefant-Tours team in Germany for the quick and uncomplicated handling of the formalities.
It was in any case 17 days far away from the topic of Covid. Namibia is safe and we can only recommend everyone to visit the country. There is no short-time work allowance or similar here; many people depend on tourism and currently have no income.
We visited Namibia on a self-drive round trip in January/February 2021. The service from Elefant-Tours was first class. All individual wishes were accommodated. Problems on site caused by weather conditions (roads washed away, so rebookings were necessary) were solved immediately. The agency even helped where it was no longer within its remit (Covid test for departure after the booked trip had ended, problems with the local police). In my experience with many different travel agencies: far above-average commitment, always quick and friendly.

The support from the Elefant-Tours team was very good from the start. We got to know the travel agency at the FreeMesse in Munich and immediately felt very professionally looked after.

Unfortunately, because of Covid, Namibia only worked out on the 2nd attempt. But here too, despite tourism on the ground running on a low flame, all our requirements were met, which allowed us as a family (child aged 2½) to enjoy really great things.

For future trips we would definitely let Elefant Tours look after us again.

Great what you achieve despite the restrictions and setbacks!

After taking a most impressive self-drive tour through southern Namibia in 2018 (thanks to Ms Borchardt), we also wanted to get to know northern Namibia. We gave Ms Wehrle a few wishes and ideas. With her excellent knowledge of the country and her quick answers to our many questions, we were able to find the optimal itinerary quickly. It included 3,000 km of driving in the rental car, nights in 13 places to stay and a return flight from Victoria Falls to Windhoek.
The tour proved to be very well planned and varied. In the first part, from Windhoek to Grootberg, the impressive landscape and the very interesting geology predominated. We were able to get to know the surroundings of the various lodges on our own hikes and on game drives.

In the second part of the tour – from Hobatere to Mushara – the variety and number of wildlife sightings increased from day to day. Because of the drought that has already lasted for years in this part of Namibia, all the animals depended on the established waterholes, and with a little patience you could watch all the animals that occur (fairly commonly) in Etosha National Park. Only there did we meet other vehicles; on the routes to the next lodge there was very little traffic. We stayed outside the national park for two days each in outstanding places (Etosha Safari Lodge and Mushara Bush Camp) whose characters complemented each other ideally.
The third part of our tour – from River Dance to Batonka – took us to the great rivers in the Caprivi Strip and as far as Victoria Falls. Because of the incomparable wildlife (Figs. 2 and 3), here too we stayed two days each at the various lodges. In retrospect, in some places, such as River Dance, it could have been more than two days, so as to process the many unique impressions and the extensive photo material more thoroughly. Because of the time of year (September) and the drought in Angola as well, Victoria Falls were half dried up. But the rest was still more than worth the trip.

The fourth part of the trip consisted only of the return flight to Windhoek and one night near the airport. This had become necessary because Air Namibia changed the flight times after our booking and the direct connecting flight to Frankfurt was no longer possible.
We would like to thank Ms Wehrle once again most warmly for the very good organisation of this round trip. All the accommodation was outstanding, the people there extremely friendly, the daily stages were not too long and the double nights gave enough time for the sights on the spot (game drives). The rental car crossing into Botswana and all the transfers by Elefant-Tours’ partners worked impeccably. This was probably not our last trip with Elefant-Tours.

From 30.12.19 to 18.1.20 I was on the overland tour from Victoria Falls to Cape Town. Afterwards I spent 3 days in Cape Town and then another week on Zanzibar.
Overall I can say that this tour impressed me incredibly and I will draw on the experiences for a long time. It was already my second overland tour and I had been looking forward to this tour through the south-western part of Africa for a long time.

With 14 other participants and 2 tour guides we set off on 31.12.19. After a few days of getting to know each other we got on very well as a group and had an incredible amount of fun together. Our tour guides Alington and Laurine were very friendly and dedicated, and after a short time we already felt as if we had known each other forever.

Eating the meals prepared by Laurine together, then sitting together over a cold drink and chatting, laughing and marvelling together, feeling safe and secure at all times – all of that and much more made up this tour.

It led us from Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park, then to the Okavango Delta, from there to Namibia (Etosha National Park, Swakopmund, south to the big dunes and Fish River Canyon, Orange River) and then via the Cederberg to Cape Town.
What we were able to see and experience was simply magnificent.
The stay in Cape Town afterwards was lovely, but the week of relaxing on Zanzibar was dreamy. All in all a holiday I will never forget and that makes me want more of Africa!

This year in September we spent 17 days as self-drivers in Namibia. And we can only report positive things. The many wonderful impressions make us happy to think back again and again. Varied landscapes, friendly people and the diversity of wildlife make a nature lover’s heart beat faster. We will especially remember the lion at Etosha National Park. Every night he roared loudly. Experiencing something like that in a tent in the wild is unique.
We had booked the trip through Elefant-Tours.

After our arrival we were picked up at the airport by Sven. From him we also received all the documents, maps and instructions. He has a great deal of experience and was able to prepare us superbly for our self-drive tour. Our route went via Windhoek, Namib Grens, Sesriem, Rostock Ritz, Swakopmund, Aba-Huab Camp, Etosha National Park, Waterberg and back to Windhoek.

At times the roads took some getting used to, but we coped well with them in our Land Cruiser. The campsites were well chosen and organised. In Swakopmund and Windhoek we stayed in guesthouses. All bookings on site were made in advance by Elefant-Tours.

It all worked out perfectly. In two years we want to go back to Africa and we will certainly book through Elefant-Tours again!
Dear Elefant team,
dear Ms Borchardt,
it was an absolute dream trip for us, the route to northern Namibia was very beautiful, the lodges well chosen, each had its own charm!! Etosha National Park in particular, simply brilliant. The good preparation gave us a unique time, the documents and map were very clear, and the descriptions of the accommodation were accurate too. We all agree that this was not our last trip to Namibia. We will gladly come back to you.
Warm regards to the whole team!

This year we booked with Elefant-Tours for the second time – a South Africa self-drive tour in 2016 and a Namibia self-drive tour in 2019. Each time we had only positive experiences with the agency. The contact and advice before the trip is always extremely friendly and the answers come quickly. For the Namibia trip we received a very detailed and good map that showed almost all the lodges and sights, so that we found all our destinations without any problem.

The booked accommodation is a great surprise on arrival every time – it is superbly chosen and the location and facilities are unique. The route is also well put together and on neither trip were there any problems or difficulties with the bookings. We would definitely book with Elefant-Tours again for our next Africa trip and can only recommend the agency most warmly.

Dear Ms Borchardt,
many thanks for organising our trip to Namibia and for the comprehensive care before and during our self-drive tour.

We all liked it very much.

The constantly changing landscape, the animals, the accommodation – simply incredibly great. Particularly worth highlighting is Lapa Lange Game Lodge at the start of our trip, with the bungalow right in front of the waterhole.

Best wishes and until next time.
This was the second trip we have booked with Elefant-Tours. Once again we had our trip put together individually, defining the destinations and wishes ourselves, and Elefant-Tours created a great package from that. We left Elefant-Tours a free hand with both the stages and the choice of lodges and campsites. It paid off, because all the accommodation was absolutely brilliant. All we had to do was drive ourselves, the rest was superbly organised, and so we experienced a dreamlike trip through Botswana and Namibia.
- In the Okavango Delta, the Big Five within 2 days,
- in Deception Valley, fighting giraffes and Kalahari lions,
- at Nata, hundreds of thousands of flamingos on the Makgadikgadi salt pans,
- in Chobe there was wildlife overload,
- at Vic Falls we almost walked in the footsteps of Dr Livingstone,
- in the Caprivi Strip birds, hippos and crocodiles
- and at the Waterberg scenery and rhinos
