Our expert tip“Simply leaving the rest of the world behind – you can do that at Mobile Explorer Camp. The thundering sound of the herd of buffalo trotting around the camp, the sparkling starry sky, the crackling campfire – you hardly want to go to bed at all and want to experience every moment in this wild world. The privacy and complete seclusion make this trip a real experience. And the potato pancakes from cook Ernest at lunch were the best I have ever eaten on safari.”

Guest feedback“Winding down the day with a gin and tonic by the campfire and listening to the sounds of the wilderness… that’s real Africa!”

Day 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Driving distance approx. 150 km; pure driving time approx. 2–3 hours + game drives in the park

Learn more ↓
After a short safari briefing in the morning, you leave the hustle and bustle of Arusha behind and reach Tarangire National Park after a drive of about two hours. Your private safari in Tanzania begins! Not least because of its impressive elephant population, this protected area is considered one of the most rewarding in all of Tanzania, especially in the dry season. At lunchtime your guide heads for the camp, which has been set up in a stunning location just for you. The cook and the camp crew are already waiting for you with a delicious lunch. In the afternoon there is time for further game drives before you return to camp and can look back on the first day of safari over a sundowner. Dinner and night at Mobile Explorer Camp in Tarangire National Park. LunchDinner
Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Driving distance: game drives

The day in the bush starts early, because this time of day is not only pleasantly cool but also offers fantastic light. Even before sunrise you set off on an early-morning game drive and return to camp in the late morning for a hearty brunch. After that there is time to relax before you go on further game drives in the afternoon. Later in the evening you listen to the crackling of the campfire and the nocturnal sounds of African wildlife. You stay again at Mobile Explorer Camp within Tarangire National Park. BreakfastLunchDinner
Day 3

Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu

Driving distance approx. 100 km; pure driving time approx. 1–2 hours + game drives

Learn more ↓
After breakfast you leave Tarangire National Park. The drive to Lake Manyara National Park takes you along back roads, past small villages and rice fields. Once you reach the southern end of the national park, the landscape changes again. Now you pass through riverine forests and wide open areas that reveal views of Lake Manyara. You go on extensive game drives before arriving at the northern end of the national park. On a good tarmac road you now climb the rim of the Rift Valley escarpment, at whose highest point there is a rewarding viewpoint. You stay at the magnificent Plantation Lodge in the heart of the crater foothills. BreakfastLunchDinner
Day 4

Karatu – Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Serengeti National Park

Driving distance approx. 180 km; pure driving time approx. 4–5 hours + game drives

Learn more ↓
At first light you drive up into the crater highlands. A highlight of your private safari in Tanzania awaits you today! After taking a first look into the interior of the Ngorongoro Crater, you descend into the crater on an adventurous road. The crater, with its 600-metre-high steep walls, is home to almost all representatives of African wildlife and is probably the best place to experience the “Big Five” in just a few hours. For lunch you drive to a small lake where you eat your packed lunch. After final game drives in the crater, your route takes you on into the seemingly endless savannahs of Serengeti National Park. In the meantime, your camp crew has transported the camp to the Serengeti and set it up anew on a private campsite. You reach the camp in the late afternoon. After a hot shower and some time to relax, your cook spoils you with all sorts of delicacies. You stay at Mobile Explorer Camp within Serengeti National Park. BreakfastLunchDinner
Day 5

Serengeti National Park

Driving distance: game drives in the park

Learn more ↓
Serengeti National Park – one of the absolute highlights of East Africa – is on the programme at length today on your private Tanzania safari. During the game drives you may well witness the Great Migration, in which around 2 million wildebeest and zebras follow the rains and thus the fresh grazing grounds. This is one of the most impressive wildlife spectacles on our planet and can be observed up close in the Serengeti. Your guide knows where the animals are and will of course do his best to present this spectacle to you up close (depending on the season and where the herds are). But you can also experience the Serengeti’s extraordinary diversity of wildlife in other ways. This national park is certainly one of the best places in all of Africa to see big cats. Sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas are not uncommon. You have lunch either at camp or on the way in the form of a packed lunch. You stay again at Mobile Explorer Camp within Serengeti National Park. BreakfastLunchDinner
Day 6

Serengeti National Park – Arusha

Transport by light aircraft to Arusha

Early in the morning you go out on safari in the vehicle one last time, to experience the Serengeti and its wildlife awakening in the warm light of the rising sun. This is one of the best times for wildlife viewing, as the animals are most active. Afterwards you fortify yourself one last time at camp before saying goodbye to your loyal camp crew. You are taken to the nearest airstrip, from where you fly back to Arusha. A flight to the coast or one of Tanzania’s islands (Zanzibar/Pemba/Mafia) is also possible for an additional charge.
